Chapter 13
*Jennifer's POV*
I couldn't believe it myself. I was gone just like that. No turning back, no tears...I had nothing.
It makes me wonder if I really do have feelings for Andrew...or did I just want to feel him?
Does this make me a slut, a whore, or a b*tch for leaving with no feeling whatsoever?
My aunt's phone rang as we were driving towards the airport.
She answered then suddenly handed her phone to me.
"It's Andrew," she said. I raised a brow in wonder. He's calling me? I brought the phone to my ear and listened.
There was no sound.
"Hello?"
Then a sniffle...
Sh*t. Was he crying?
"Andrew? Are you okay?" I whispered, hoping no one could hear me. They were all too busy yelling out directions to each other.
Andrew cleared his throat.
"Yeah. I'm just going to miss you, Jen." My heart pained, but no tears fell for him. This wasn't right. And now the little voice in my head was louder, telling me to break it off.
But I couldn't. Not just yet. This wasn't the time.
"I'm going to miss you too," I answered, "But hey, remember you can email or IM me whenever," I tried to bring some optimism. His voice became stronger.
"Yeah. For sure."
"Well, you get some sleep."
"I can't sleep."
"But you have school today..."
"I'm not going." Okay. His defiance was becoming really annoying.
"Andrew..." I whined, "Seriously, just go to bed. I'll IM you as soon as I get home, ok?" I heard him sigh.
"Okay. Bye Jen...I love you." And right there...those three words I feared the most, made me feel weak once again.
"I love you too." What the hell Jen? Why the f*ck did you just say that back dammit? Now you're stuck. I hung up quickly before I could hear him say anything else, or before I would say something stupid.
We arrived at the Chicago airport shortly after.
To be back home...felt refreshing. My mom greeted us all with a hug. I missed her.
"How was the flight home?" she asked. It was around 8 at night when we got home.
"Horrible," I said, "The second plane on the way home was really scary."
It really was. Our plane was delayed and we ended up taking a piece of sh*t back home that cluttered throughout the entire one hour trip from our stop at Kansas back to Arizona. I nearly had a heart attack when the entire plane gave one huge jolt and shook me out of my seat.
