"We have to do this song!" Katlyn said to Johnny, pointing at one of the songs.
"Can that be the back up song? Its a little too upbeat for piano," Johnny replied.
"Yeah sure..." Katlyn said sadly, she loved the other songs too, that one we just her favorite.
They started practicing one of the songs, Katlyn playing the high parts and Johnny playing the lower parts. They both messed up the whole time. Johnny slammed his fists on the piano, and Katlyn groaned.
"Yes, that was, very bad," Ms. Krolly said.
///////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////"Bye Ms. Krolly!" Katlyn yelled, she thought they had the song down, mostly at least. Oh for heavens sake, they couldn't do it.
"We're screwed," Johnny said.
"We still have a while to practice before the competition," Katlyn replied.
They got to Johnny's place and his dad was there, "you staying the night again Katlyn?"
"Probably, I don't want to see my sister right now," Katlyn replied.
"Well you guys came in time for dinner, for once."
"What's for dinner dad?" Johnny asked
"It's good old fashioned lasagna."
"Yes!" Both Johnny and Katlyn whispered.
"Ey, dad, do we still have a piano?" Johnny asked.
"It's in the back room, a few keys aren't working, why?"
"No reason, I thought it'd be good to pick up another hobby." Johnny said, and the best friends went to the back room to practice their song.
