It's misty.
I can't see anything but thick grey mist. It's so thick it burns my eyes and chokes me. It carries a certain stench, a stench that intimidates and eludes. I wipe my eyes hard and look into the distance. I can see something glowing brighter and brighter. I notice that the mist is coming out of it. I force myself to see more with all the effort within me. It takes me a while to realise that the mist is actually smoke. Something is burning but the darkness around me makes my eyes act up. It takes a while for them to adjust. When they eventually do I am able to make out a house from the flames, well what's left of it. I stare at it for a while then all of a sudden every cell within me aches to save it. To stop the flames from engulfing it. I'm about to move when I feel a somewhat familiar presence beside me. A hooded figure, no, it's a person. Someone with a long hooded cloak stands beside me. I'm fairly calm, put aside the fact that only a second ago I was standing alone and that makes the entire thing creepy.
"You want to save them. You're wondering if you can. But I'll answer that question for you, you can't."

I weigh out that the voice belongs to a man, maybe a boy, I'm not really sure but it's someone of the male side of the population. It takes me a few seconds before the full impact of his words catch up. I can't just wait there and do nothing. I'm about to say something when he interjects.
"You can't now. I know it'll be a matter of time until you can. But by then you'll be able to do more than stop a burning building. Things are going to get hard, but I'll be there for you. I'll always be here when you need me. I'll always catch you when you fall."
He finally turns to face me and I can't make out much from the darkness. Some of the flames in the background cast a light that dances off his features. I still can't see much but he locks his eyes with mine. For a brief moment their intense green glows, a dark but bright green. He breaks our eye contact to stare at the burning house. I know we've never met. I'm extremely certain now. He's something from another world.

"I'll be back by the time you need me. I promise. But for now it's better if you forget this."
With that he touches my forehead. My skin tingles where he touches me. He looks at me again and smiles. Not a toothy smile but one of those smiles you give to someone you know that you won't see for a long time. He runs his hand down my forehead and past my eyes and everything goes black.

I wake up and my head is pounding. There's darkness all around me but I know that I'm in my room. I check the clock and it's 3:38 am. I don't know why I'm awake. I do. I had a dream. About what? I can't remember. Surely it's not important if i can't remember it. I lay back down and dose off. There's an image stuck in my mind. It's eyes. Green eyes.

Hey guys! I finally decided to write up a story. I'm not  too sure if anyone will enjoy it but I've started anyway. Please comment and give me some feedback. Anything is appreciated. ♥
