I grab my book bag from my locker, then reach back into it to grab my book, To Kill a Mocking Bird. I pull my back pack straps over my shoulder and close my locker. I wrap my arms around my book and start to walk out of the school building.

I turned left down the hall towards the school parking lot. I lifted my head up a bit, and looked down the hall by the entrance doors. I stopped in my tracks and moved over to the right wall. It seemed like time slowed down as I looked at him. I watched as he stood and talked to his friends. Slowly, they turn around and walk in my direction. I start walking again so I don't look like a creep.

I keep my eyes up, but lower my head a little. He walks past and doesn't even notice me. I continue walking down the hall and out the front doors towards the parking lot.

As I reach my 2006 red neon, I open the driver door and toss my bag over to the passenger seat, along with my book. I sit down in my seat and close my door. I stick the key in the ignition, and turn it. I hear the engine come to life, and I buckle my seatbelt.

I back out of my parking space and drive towards the parking lot exit. While I wait for a chance to turn I grab my sunglasses out of the cup holder, and put them on. I wait a few more seconds before I pull out of the parking lot and turn right towards downtown.

Once I got closer to downtown, the traffic started to accumulate. I had to stop at several red lights before I finally reached my street. I turned into my driveway and opened the garage door, then parked my car. I grabbed my stuff from the passenger seat. I opened my door and got out of my car. I walked into the house and took my shoes off. I took my backpack off and put it on the floor next to the door.

"Mom! I'm home!" I yelled down the hall. The house stayed silent for a second until I heard foot steps getting closer. The next second my mom walks into the kitchen.

"Hey baby, how was school?" She asks me. I stand and think for a second before answering

"It was okay, nothing out of the ordinary." I answer as I grab an apple from the fruit basket. I take a bite from the apple, then walk back towards the door to pick up my backpack, and book. I walk down the hall and into my bedroom. I walk in and close my bedroom door behind me. I throw my backpack on the floor, and grab my phone from my back pocket.

I turn on my music, and lay down on my bed, with my book. As I started reading my phone rang. I picked it up and looked at the caller ID. When I noticed it said Nichole, I answered it.

"Hey Nichole." I said as I put the phone up to my ear.

"Hey Autumn! What are you doing Saturday night?"

"The same thing I always do. Read and do schoolwork."

"Awww, come on. Come to Lucas's party with me!"

We bicker back and forth for several minutes, before I finally cave.

"Fine! I'll go! But, you have to take me shopping first."

"Done! I will pick you up at 8."

"Okay, Bye. See you at school tomorrow."

"Bye, see you at school." With that Nichole hangs up and I go back to reading my book.
