I awake instantly when my alarm goes off, and I quickly put on my glasses.I don't know why, but I felt a rush of adrenaline, as I got out of bed to get ready for school. I hadn't been this excited to go to school since Kindergarten.

When I walked into the kitchen, my mom was standing by the phone, talking to someone. Who could she be talking to at 6 in the morning? I question myself. I dwell on that question for a moment, and then go grab a bowl from the cabinet above the dishwasher.

I quickly set the bowl down on the table, and grab Lucky Charms, from above the fridge. As I pour some cereal into my bowl, and grab some milk, my mom hangs up the phone with a sigh.

"Everything okay?" I ask while pouring milk into my bowl.

"Uh? Oh! Yeah, sweetie. Everything's fine. Just a little trouble at work, that's all." She says quickly, before leaving the room and going to get ready for work. My mom works as a CBT therapist. CBT stands for Cognitive Behavioral Therapist. In a nutshell, she helps people with depression and anxiety.

I quickly eat my cereal before going to get ready. I quickly get up from the table and start to put my bowl into the sink. As I near the sink, I slip and fall. Dropping the bowl, and falling on my butt. The bowl shatters as it makes contact with the white tiled floor. My mom comes running out of the bathroom to see if I'm okay.

"Are you okay honey? What happened?" She asks as she helps me to my feet.

"I'm fine, I just slipped and fell." I answer as she grabs a broom to sweep up the bowl. I take the broom from her hand and sweep up the mess I made.

She returns to the bathroom to finish her makeup when I hear scratching at the front door. I set the room aside and open the front door. Before I could do anything, a hyper little German Shepherd puppy comes in a runs around like a maniac. Once again my mother comes running out of the bathroom.

"Autumn, why is there a puppy running around the house?!" She asks in a panic.

"Calm down mom, she was just scratching at the door, and I opened it to see what it was. She came running in before I could react." I answered as I picked up the puppy. "Can she stay here just for today?" I ask my mom, with the best puppy dog eyes I can muster.

She debates with herself for a second before saying "Okay, but just for today." She says before returning to the bathroom to finish her makeup once again.

I walk into my bedroom and gather some old blankets from my closet for the puppy. I then walk out into the garage and find a large box, and bring it back into my room. I settle the blankets down in the box, and pick up the squirming puppy. I give her a quick kiss and set her down in the box. I then grab some old socks, and set them in there too, so that she will have something to chew on while I'm at school. When I checked the time on my phone it said 6:25. My eyes widened as I realized how little time I had left to get ready. I had to be at school by 7:20 and it took 30 minutes to get there. That means I have 35 minutes to get ready!

I dug through my closet like a maniac, looking for something to wear. After what seemed like forever, I finally settled on my holed skinny jeans, a pale-ish yellow tank top, and a maroon colored plaid cover up. After that, I grabbed my brush and brushed out my long blonde hair. My hair ran down to my mid back. People always told me to cut it, but I always said no. I've always loved how long it is.

After I finished brushing my hair, I walked over to my vanity and sat down. I take off my glasses, and grab my mascara. While putting on my mascara, my mom walks in.

"I'm leaving for work honey. I love you, I'll see you when I get home." She states as she enters my room. She comes up and gives me a hug goodbye.

"Goodbye mom, love you." I say as she pecks my cheek.

"Love you." She says one last time as she leaves my room.

I finish applying my mascara, and quickly add some nude eyeshadow. It wasn't much, but then again I didn't need that much. I didn't have acne, so there was no need for foundation. I didn't need the whole winged eyeliner thing, and my cheeks were naturally a light pink, so I didn't need the blush either. I also didn't prefer to use lipstick. I usually just cared around some chap stick.

As I finished my makeup I walked to the bathroom, to brush my teeth. I finished brushing my teeth, and walked back into my bedroom. I grabbed my body spray, Pumpkin Cupcake by Bath and Body Works.   I sprayed it a few times near the squirming puppy. She stopped moving as she sniffed the air. She sneezed a few times before she became hyper again.

I checked my phone again for the time. It read 6:45. I quickly told put on my white converse high tops, and told the puppy goodbye. I then grabbed my book off my desk. On my way out the door, I turned my light off and grabbed my teal Transport backpack from the floor.

I sprinted through the house and out to the garage. I double checked that I had everything. My backpack, my book, and my phone.  Once I was sure I had everything, I got in the car, and set my stuff in the passengers seat. The only thing I had left was my phone, which was in my back pocket.

I opened the garage door, and started my car. After I had buckled my seat belt, I backed out of my garage and driveway. I turned off of my road and drove through town.

Once I had gotten to school, I grabbed my stuff and quickly walked into the school, and kept my head down. Once I had turned the corner I spotted Nichole waiting for me by my locker. Once she had spotted me, a smile spread across her face.

"So" she started. "I was thinking for the party, you could get a bright orange crop top, and pair it with some new high waisted shorts. And of course, you would need some new shoes. Oh! May-"

"Nichole? Are you serious?" I cut her off. "I haven't worn shorts since elementary school. And a crop top? I don't know..." I drifted off.

"Okay, I know you're not very comfortable with it now. However, once you see how hot you'll look in it, you'll change your mind." She assured me.

"Maybe...if I don't feel comfortable though, we're not buying it." I stated.

"Understood." Nichole agreed, as the smile on her face widened. What did I get myself into? I though.
