Not Again

Chapter 5

Inspector Arun entered Assistant Commissioner's room with a file in his hand.

"Hello Sir"

"Yes Arun..."

"We have got the postmortem results "

"Results please"

"It's a murder sir... A chemical named 'Sodium Iso-Cyanide' is injected in his shoulder"

Richard received the file and started reading the report.

"Please take your seat Arun" and Arun obliged.

"The post mortem report says the name as 'Gopinath'. Are you sure that his name is Gopinath? When the 'Nature Cure' itself is a bogus, this name cannot be true either"

"You are right sir... Until we come to know his real name, let it be 'Gopinath'. And we need some name to investigate this case sir"

"Has this news and picture of the person shared with media already?"

"That is done and the news has already been in TV channels. The newspapers will start publishing from today evening. We might get some updates on this soon"

"And did we get any clue on those 'Nature Cure' folks?"

"Nothing yet sir"

"We will have to appoint a team headed by SI Moorthy to investigate this. He is the one who has seen those fellows"

"There is a small issue in it sir"

"What is that?"

"Moorthy is suspecting that the Nature Cure doctor Abilash and his assistants might have come in disguise before they would have come to the stations"

"Why made him suspect so?"

"As per Moorthy, though Dr. Abilash who had the looks of an old man, had a voice which doesn't fit the age. He was sounding like a young person"

"So you guys doubt the doctor might be a young person. Right?"

"That is right sir. They might have come to the station to know where Gopinath is. There should be some link to the word 'Not Again' and these fellows. As they came to know from us that he is in GH, they would have entered the hospital and killed him. As they were in disguise, it is really tough to identify them, even by SI Moorthy."

"Okay... Any idea on what that 'Not Again' is?"

"No sir... But I can tell you my guess"

"Go ahead"

"He might have come across some experience which he would have hated the very first time. The outcome of that could be the word 'Not Again'"

Richard nodded his head.

"No... No... No... I deny that straight away"

"Then, what is your assumption sir?"

"I see a danger in the word 'Not Again'. In other words, there is a sensation or plea that a disastrous incident shouldn't happen once again. Else, he wouldn't have come running all over to the police station even after he was wounded heavily"

When he completed his sentence, the door opened. A constable entered in and wished him with a salute.

"What is the matter?"

"Sir... Commissioner is on his way to meet you now"

Richard and Arun looked at each other and stood up. Tension and eagerness gripped both of them.

"Why should commissioner visit here?"

"I think it should be something important"

While they were busy guessing, the door opened and Vinayak entered the room. Along with him was a lady who was seen gloomy and sweaty. Arun and Richard went to the attention position and saluted him as a respect to him. Commissioner accepted it with a nod and occupied a chair in the room. He looked at the lady, "You can take a seat too".
