Not Again

Chapter 15

Richard was excited hearing that from Varshitha.

"How can we find out the place where Varun stayed?"

"Sir.. When he visited Delhi, he used to talk to me over phone, almost daily. While talking to him, I have asked him on how he managed food. He said that he has a friend in Connaught place in Delhi who runs a small South Indian hotel, 'Subbu Bhavan'. Looks like the hotel is popular in the area."

"By any chance do you remember the name of the guy who runs the hotel?"

"Hmm... Yes... His name is Rajesh. And he belongs to Trichy too. You might get some information if you get to talk to him"

"That's good. I have a way to do that. I have a close friend and a batch mate of mine who is an Inspector in Regal Circle, Bhupesh Gupta. I knew him from the days of training in Chandigarh. We do talk over phone often. He can help us get the information required in an hour. Let me talk to him."

"Ok sir"

He picked up his mobile phone, took his contacts list, scrolled through the contact, selected the name 'Bhupesh Delhi' and pressed the 'Call' button. The call was picked up in the next ten seconds. Richard spoke in to him in general for a minute and detailed him on the Varun's case. As a last item, he talked about Rajesh who is running the hotel in Connaught place.

"Richard... Can you give me an hour of time? Right now, I don't have anything important. So I will try to get as much information as I can and will call you back"

"Yes please".

The call was disconnected and Richard turned to Varshitha.

"Varshitha... Bhupesh will get the required information in an hour. I will wait here until he calls back. You can continue with your work. I will call you if required"

"Ok Sir... Do you like to have a coffee or any other beverages?"

"No.. Thanks... I will just need a bottle of water. The time will fly off with the newspaper and magazines on the table."

Once Varshitha moved back to the reception, Richard got busy with the newspaper. Approximately in one and a half hour, Richard's phone rang and it was Bhupesh.

"Richard... I have managed to find Rajesh. Looks like he knows a lot about Varun. He couldn't talk Hindi or English with fluency. I will hand over the phone to him and you can clear your doubts on Varun"

"Sure...Thanks Bhupesh... Handover the phone to him"

"Ok"

After few second of silence, he heard the voice of Rajesh.

"Hello sir"

"Rajesh... By now, you would have got the news on Varun"

"Yes sir.. He did...Who could be the reason for Varun's murder? He is a talented, well-mannered guy and he wanted to reach new heights"

"Rajesh... We couldn't get much clue in Varun's murder. You will have to help us providing some information about him"

"Sure sir..."

"How do you know Varun?"

"We were school mates and we were in the same class until 12th standard. I didn't like to continue my studies after that. Dad was running a hotel in Trichy and I was helping in running the business. In couple of years, he expired and I didn't like to be there after that. So I decided to move to Delhi and start a South Indian hotel. Though I moved back to Delhi, me and Varun were in touch. Last month, Varun stood in front of me as a surprise. When I asked the reason for his visit, he answered that he came to attend the International Bio-Technology meet. I demanded him to visit my hotel for Breakfast, lunch and dinner on the days he is in Delhi. As promised he was here. "

"Do you know where did he stay?"

"He stayed in 'Comfort Inn' which is couple of blocks away from my hotel"

"Did anyone else stayed with him during those days?"

"No sir... He visited Delhi twice and he was alone. But while he was here, he used to attend a number of phone calls. His calls usually ran for a long time"

"Do you know to whom he speaks often? Have you ever happened to listen to his conversations?"

"Sometimes yes... One of the names is 'Robinson'"

"Robinson??"

"Yes sir"

"Anyone else?"

"Sanjeev"

"Hmm... Anyone else?"

"No sir.. These are the names that I have heard"

"Who are they?"

"I am not sure sir... But I believe Sanjeev is someone who is in Media. Whenever he spoke to him, he used to ask 'What is the hot topic for the say'. I cannot understand most of the topics he spoke to him"

"Have you ever heard about the name Indra?"
