Not Again

Chapter 9

Arun showed him a piece of paper that he picked from the room. Richard looked at it and he shrunk his brow.

The paper had a side image of a human head. The brain and the area around it were colored in blue. Below the image there were a few lines written

Richard looked at Arun with a bit more confused face.

"Do you understand anything?"

"I am with you Sir... Don't have a clue on the image and the lines scribbled in this paper"

"Noticing all these, I suspect something"

"Like what sir?"

"Varun might have been researching something and might have got rivals for that reason"

"Research on?"

"This Bio Technology subject is an ocean. There are more discoveries out of the researches that are happening in this field. Varun might have picked up something like this for his research. I suspect that the person who tried to break-in to his room, might have been looking for some important documents related to that. We might have to find out what he was looking for here."

While Richard was speaking, Sarang interrupted.

"Sir... I want to tell you something"

"Yes?"

"Last month, Varun visited Delhi twice"

"To Delhi? For what?"

"I really don't know about that"

"How many days was he there?"

"Two days sir"

Richard turned to Arun.

"Arun... We need to check this room completely. Don't ignore even a single piece of paper. Varun cannot just be a normal Lab Technician. He should be someone who is above thousand feet of what we think he is. Only when we find that out, we will be able to progress in this case. "

"Yes sir"

Arun and Richard continued to explore Varun's room. Their search continued for half an hour. Arun saw a wash basin in the corner of the room and a mirror above the basin. There was a newspaper behind the mirror that was folded neatly. He pulled out the newspaper from the clutches of the mirror.

He wiped of the dust around the paper and opened it. It was a year old daily and he gave a quick glance on the contents of it. While Arun was glancing through, Richard joined him.

"What are you looking at?"

"It is a year old daily newspaper sir. It was kept folded behind the mirror. This room didn't have a single piece of newspaper or a daily. Said so, why should this piece folded and kept safe behind the mirror by Varun? There should be some news in this paper which is of more important to Varun. That should have made him keep this paper safe"

The newspaper had key headlines and the details running below that. The headlines were

"Sir... I'm not sure to which headline in this paper is Varun related."

"Let me read through it again".

Richard started reading through it.
