Not Again

Chapter 11

It was 6 PM. Inspector Arun entered the Commissioner's office in his bike, parked it in the parking area and started walking to Assistant Commissioner Richard's room.

He entered his room while Richard was busy in his laptop. Arun placed a salute and Richard pointed out a chair opposite to him.

"Take your seat please"

Arun obliged.

"Sir... Anything important?"

"Very important...Else I wouldn't have asked you to come to my office urgently"

"Tell me sir"

Richard closed his laptop and pulled out the newspaper sheet, which was picked up from Varun's room from the drawer.

"After analyzing each of the headlines and the details in the newspaper, one particular news seems to be significant or related to Varun. It took two complete days to figure that out."

"Which news is that sir?"

Richard pointed out to a news that read 'Mystery continues in university Vice Chancellor Indra's death'.

"Read through the details under it"

Arun started to read.

Two weeks passed and mystery surrounds the death of Vice Chancellor of Baba University Mr.Indra, who died during the convocation ceremony. Doctors who examined him are clueless on the reason behind his death. A group of doctors have stated that it is a natural death but another small group raised doubts stating that he might have been killed. As VC's son Jairam demanded, a post mortem was conducted by a group of three doctors. Two of the doctors have indicated that it's a natural death and that the reason for the death is the failure of Brain, Heart and the lungs at the same time. But the third one has indicated that it might be an unnatural death as his brain and the parts around it were in blue. He also stated that the blue color could be a sign of a poison. The pathology test of the brain didn't report any presence of toxic chemical or poison. Due to these contradicting reports, the police department could not come to a definite conclusion on the death.

Once Arun finished reading it, he looked at Richard in a confused state of mind.

"Sir... How do you think that this news is related to Varun?"

"While we were searching Varun's room, you picked a paper that had an image of a brain. Do you remember that?"

"Yes I do remember"

"I thought that it might help our investigation and brought it here with me. Also, I wanted to get some thoughts and comments from a Bio Technology Specialist on that. Then I found out the news and this image has something in common. That's the reason I called you here"

"What is common between these two sir?"

"The bluish colored brain in the paper and the postmortem report of a doctor which mentioned about the unusual blue color of the brain. Don't you think these two are common?"

"Sir... If that is your assumption, the answer for that puzzle will be like 'Varun could be the reason for this murder'"

"I am just suspecting that way. It can be right or may be wrong. We will take this investigation in that route"

"I would like to let you know my point of view here"

"Yes please"

"We will show these information we got so far to a senior Bio Technologist and get his thoughts on this"
