"Goddamn Amber is this for real?" I asked.
I looked back down at the pregnancy stick in my hand and back up at Amber who was crying.
"Yeah Lucas I'm pregnant."
I laid the stick on the counter. "What ya crying fo' baybeh?"
"Because we ain't ready for this Lucas I'm not ready for this."
"So what you want an abortion? Because you ain't gettin' rid of my child." I said.
"But-"
"We need to get ready for this. My freshman year is ending and if I gotta take time off I will okay?"
She looked at me with tear-filled eyes.
"Okay you promise?"
"Promise what?"
"You'll be here."
"I'll always be here Amber you know I love you." I leaned down and gave her a kiss.
"I l....love you too."
"Let's just get a doctor's appointment just to make sure." I said.

I laid in the bed in the dark. Amber was hugging me while she was sleep.
The thought of me being a father is the best thing ever. But me? I wasn't ready for this how am I gonna tell my mama and sister.
"Baby you woke?" Amber asked me.
"Yeah why?" I said.
"Nothin' I was just asking that's all."
A few months back I switched colleges and now we stay in Atlanta its been good for now. I haven't ran into Marissa nor do I want to either.
I unwrapped Amber's arms from around me and got up out of the bed. I had to call somebody to calm my nerves down.
Javion: Do you know it's something o'clock at night what in the hell do you want Lucas?
Me: J listen I got some good and bad news today
Javion: kay I'm sitting up now What?
Me: Amber just founded out she is pregnant today
Javion: Okay so what's the bad news it ain't yours?
Me: nah I'm scared sis I'm just 18 years old sis I aint ready to be a father not just yet anyway.
Javion: Well you need to man up then because babies ain't no joke
Me: I know
I ran my hand down my face.
Javion: Well if you know then why you calling me? Did you tell mama and Lily yet?
Me: Hell nah man no no no no. Ain't no way I can tell them. Not just yet.
Javion: Well you betta find the right words Lucas it ain't gonna take that long for here to show have you been in the studio?
