Chapter 9: Corrupted Destroyer

While Jay and Selene goes around the village for more info about the world lore Ten comes up to the two saying "Hey! The Destroyer is back and this time he looks different" and as they ran to the hide out they see their teammates preparing for battle on the foot of the waterfall facing the Destroyer now wearing an corrupted armor and as they arrived to the team Evan said "Well sparky, the big guy right there don't seem the same anymore, so your play tricks that you gave me won't be enough" and the Destroyer said "Ah Jay and Selene the guardians of the multiverse too bad there is only two of you because if there was more of you then this would not be so easy" and Evan said to the two "What is he talking about sparky?" and Jay said to Selene "Right now we can't take him on like this, grab the team and get out he is too powerful to handle right now, unless the we explain it to the whole team and get them focused" and Selene rejects and replies "No I am not leaving you again especially what happened last time" and Jay said "You're not losing me and if you're not gonna take the team out of here we will all die especially if we don't take care of him properly and I will catch up, don't forget I will find you no matter where I am" and Jay said to Evan "This is bad and it's only getting worse if we don't retreat" and Jake said "I don't want to choose the cowards way, I sense that he is more powerful than before, we have to retreat and know what's going on" and Evan and the rest said except for Jay and Johanna yells at Jay "Hey, tough guy not coming" and Jay replies with a laughter "Heh I don't think I am" and Johanna said "You better be alive or else I will bomb you" and Jay said "Fine now get out of here!" and the Destroyer "Aww with all the powers of multiverse on your finger tips and you still protect the ants that you call your friends, instead of ruling the multiverse with an iron fist" and he attacks Jay with a concentrated blast of lightning and Jay responds but was a bit too late and the Destroyer said "I know your capabilities little deity" and as Jay gets up he continued "With the powers you have that was nothing am I right?" and Jay could not reply because of the pain and the Destroyer said "What's wrong Jay are you really the one to give me a challenge or did the gods sent the wrong guy?" and Jay gets mad as the Destroyer continues "Maybe I will let your friends live so they can see your corpse hanging on my throne room and what I meant about your friends the ones from that Mechs and Monsters world, Maika, Jack, Jennifer, and Damian" and that made Jay pissed and as he stands up his aura starts appearing around him, flowing out of him but it changes, changes to a reddish dark color, so does the neon blue on his clothing and his eyes glow red, and he said "You son of a bitch, I will make sure before I will take you down, you will suffer the torture I am about to give you" and Jay charges fast at him so fast that it was faster than light and he blows the Destroyer back and appears right behind him and he hits him again and again, sending the Destroyer flying blow for blow and with his last attack he brings out his sword but it transform in such Demonic look and slices the Destroyer to the ground, and as Jay calms down he also turns back to normal so as his weapon, the Destroyer with the looks of that he did not take any damage grabs Jay by the neck and as Jay struggles to escape, the destroyer said with pain "Hehe looks like your attack wasn't good enough, but for your reward for trying I will make sure Selene lives the last to see the failure that you brought upon to her" and suddenly a frag grenade blows up on the Destroyer and it was Johanna, she punches the ground making an earthquake toppling over the Destroyer letting free Jay from his grasps and the Destroyer said "You little insect I will squash you like the bug you are" and Destroyer creates a concentrated blast of all the elements to Johanna but she tried to block it with a rock wall but it mowed it down and it was too fast for her to doge but Jay with one last energy left he slows down time and use his speed to go forth and save Johanna from the blast but hits him instead and as the smoke and dust clears and with Johanna's frightened face seeing there is nothing left of Jay but his jacket ripped and torn, fear of the power of the Destroyer she grab what remains of his jacket and she breaks down the cavern to fall on top of the Destroyer and left and as she runs the Destroyer laughs in his triumph over Jay.

Johanna reunites the team unharmed carrying with her the remains of what Jay's jacket was and the team asks what happen and what's that she got on her hand, and as Selene walks up to Johanna with distraught knowing that is Jay's jacket on her hand and Johanna says with tears and sob "I tried to save him but ended him instead" and Selene says with disbelief "That can't be true! He can't be dead! He shouldn't be!" and Jake stops her from going back, she keeps struggling to break free and she calms down and cry saying "It was supposed to be me to die for him not him, me and Jay were partners in fixing this mess, the corrupted beings consume the most powerful beings of each universe and give them a power boost and learning from another and our job was to destroy each one as they popped up, he was carrying this burden by himself until the people who created him gave me similar powers but he still carrying it himself and now he is dead" and Ten said "Selene-chan don't need to cry, we are here to help you but even in Jay-san's death we should still fight knowing that we fought with all our will instead of giving up" and Evan said "The kid is right Jay or no Jay he would still want us to fight on instead being sad for ourselves, he did save our lives to fight another day" and as the team group up once again and heads of for another place for shelter Johanna gives the remains of Jay's jacket and she asks "Was Jay a good man?" and Selene replies while wiping off her tears "He was the best" and Selene repairs the remains his jacket and Johanna said "That quite handy" and Selene replies "Yeah he taught me how to use my powers" and she ties his jacket around her waist and walks away with the team.
