So she really had come around to it.

It was mad, it was crazy, unbelievable. But how could he believe any other way?
That touch had meant something, it had been real. He'd practically lost his sense of time when it happened.

It was a relief and an annoyance that finally she'd been the one to pull away. It was a relief that he had a chance to get his bearings again, but an annoyance that it had to end. Perhaps his touch had betrayed something, and she'd felt how strong his desire was to take it further.

But she was precious, and he didn't want to harm her. So it was good that she'd stopped. He was patient, but not entirely made of stone. He was flesh and blood, a heart beat beneath his chest, and he was capable of acting impulsively. She'd learned that once, and he'd hate for her to learn it again, when things were going so well.

Still, perhaps there would soon come a time where he didn't need to hold back like that. She seemed just as willing as he felt. Maybe if he tried something more then she'd accept it, enjoy it.

The thought of it made his heart flutter, and a smile came to his lips. This was all he'd ever wanted. In his life things had happened so quickly that the pursuit of his own happiness had been overlooked so many times.

But he'd just known she'd be the one for him, in the end.

A little more time, that was all he needed.

To make sure they truly loved each other, and that she wanted him just as much. Before then he hadn't even let himself think about what would happen when it had happened. Let her go? It was a strange thought, she might tell someone what had happened.
Someone might take her.

But if he kept her there... Would she come to hate him? Maybe she'd love him enough to forgive him.

Surely. Himself, he'd have forgiven her for anything, so she'd feel the same, wouldn't she?

After all, she'd be with him and only him. She wouldn't have to fight titans and risk death, she wouldn't be upset and distracted when others close to her died. This was the perfect solution, really. Even if she had returned his love before, in the world above, he knew now that they would've ended up in this place anyway.

She was his, and he wasn't going to risk losing her.
