The sound of Pokemon remixes buzzed in my ears. I was in heaven. I checked the time on my iPod quickly. It's 9:30.
"Mommy, we're going to be at the bowling alley for two and a half hours?!" I asked cheerfully.
"Yeah, but time will go by quick, you'll have fun!" my mom said.
My brother and I walked into Gahanna Lanes. I haven't been bowling since... God, who knows... I grabbed my size seven bowling shoes and quickly raced to our lane. My brother typed in the name "Yuri" on the screen, and I did "Umbreon." Soon, we were greeted by our neighbors, Anna and Jack. I smiled as I hugged Anna, and we began our non-stop bowling session.
"Jack's totally gonna win. Look how many points he has!" I chuckled, looking at the youngest boy.
"Nope, looks like you won, 'Umbreon'!" Anna shouted. My face was stretched in a huge smile that I've never worn in a while. After many tiring bowling rounds, my and Anna pleaded to try the arcade for once. My dad gave me a $20 bill and Anna and I ran to the other side of the building, Luke chasing behind us.
"Yeah! 100 tickets!" I shouted, looking at the tickets piling out of the machine. I was finally in my happy place, and of all places, the bowling alley. For the record, I hate bowling, but this keeps me happy...
"5... 4... 3... 2... 1... HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!" All the strangers cheered in unison. I smiled and fell back on the couch. I'd never thought I'd be this happy ever again... like all these concerns would always weigh me down and make me miserable forever. I shouldn't let life do that. Like Fairy Tail says, I need to live each day like it was my last, and to never doubt. For some reason, I felt like crying. But not of sadness. I wanted to cry out with tears of joy, wondering what adventure 2014 was going to bring me. I felt tears of happiness sting in my eyes as I watched Luke roll a bowling ball down the lane. Those pins are the bads, and that strike... that's 2014, getting rid of the bads. I smiled a huge, goofy grin. But I truly couldn't help myself. Though, one thing came to my mind at that moment...
