Today was a Good Day

I moved my body to face my alarm clock. "6:50" it read. I shuffled the covers off my body and jumped out of my bed. I got ready and hopped into my mom's car. My heart pounded in my ears.

I stepped into my math classroom, face ablaze as I passed Kas. Yesterday, after school, I put a note in his locker. It said, "It's late, but I like you a lot. Locker 2028" I sat next to my friend Austin and pulled out my study guide. It's exciting school is almost over.

Math passed, so did Art. I walked towards my Language Arts classroom quietly as Kas walked beside me. He didn't seemed bothered, though. I could've sworn he was smart enough to realize it was me who out that note in his locker. Pushing the thought back into my head, I went into the classroom and sat down quietly. Class went pretty normal. I almost dozed off due to the boring grammar lessons. Suddenly, a group of teachers walked into the classroom. I knew for a fact that they were eighth grade teachers, because my mom was there. She quickly stepped over and hugged me while the other teachers said hi to my Language Arts teacher, Mrs. Fuller. Mrs. Fuller began introducing teachers, of course I already knew them, however. She came to my mom, saying, "This is Mrs. Bittner."

"Hey that's Gabby's mom!

"Isn't that Gabby's mom?"

"Gabby!" the class spoke quietly. I smiled. Today is going to be a good day.

Lunch finally came, and I walked up to our usual table with Alex and a few other people. Some my friends, some, not really. "Gabby, do you have a crush on me?" I quickly recalled from my dream last night. Oh, god Spencer. Hopefully that's not Déjà vu or something. While I was thinking to myself, my friend Bradley grabbed my phone off the table and began taking Selfies. He's not known to do that, though. He's actually one of my good friends from first grade, so I could trust him... I think...

When I got my phone back, there was about 20 or so pictures of him, and he had hacked my Instagram with a picture of him saying, "omg Bradley is so cool!!" Although, since he's my friend, I let it slide.

Annie and I walked towards the orchestra room to see a group of girls gathered by the white board. They were drawing. "I want to draw!!" I shouted as I stepped up to the board, grabbing a green marker (my favorite color). I began to draw an anime version of me until our orchestra teacher came out, asking for help. Annie and I's arms bolted up, shouting, "Oh me!!" She picked us and few other students as we walked outside to her car. She told us to grab all the things in her car as she pulled open the trunk. Students gasped at the goodies. There was probably 10 bottles of Hawaiian Punch and other fun snacks. We all began grabbing bags from the trunk and started inside. We walked passed the boys' group that help out the former Social Studies student teacher, Mr. Shoaf. Spencer was there. (A/N: Spencer is Kas. I've decided to use his real name)  I could hear them talking about or load as our orchestra teacher said, "It pays to be in orchestra!" Annie and I laughed and walked back to the classroom.

Oh god... Science. I slipped passed Spencer at his seat and sat next to Lizzy, my face on fire.

"I'm so scared, Lizzy!" I said, placing my head on the desk. She simply smiled and we listened to instructions for the day. Lizzy and I continued our work for a while, until it came to some labs. We stood up and walked to some of them. One of the labs was using these "Boomwackers" to make sound. There we also long, bendable tubes that you spin to make sound, but we didn't use them. Although we didn't decide to enjoy them, someone else did. Annie poked me and pointed towards Spencer. He had one of the tubes and was spinning it joyfully, a goofy grin on his face. A blush crept up my neck. I pulled off my glasses and buried my face in my arms on my desk. I looked back up and he was walking towards us, an amused gin on his face, which I have to admit, looked fucking adorable. He began spinning it again, the grin never leaving his face. He put the thing up to his nose, making him look like an elephant. Then, he put it up to his mouth and began blowing in it, causing the person next to him to flinch. My face was probably ten shades of red, and I face palmed to hide it.

The fun came to an end quickly, and soon we found ourselves putting up chairs and getting ready to leave for the day.

"Do you want me to ask if he got the note?" Lizzy asked. I nodded and she stepped over to him, as I distracted myself by talking to Annie. Lizzy came back and told me that he, in fact, did not get the note. I stood completely still, a voice in my head saying, oh shit! Annie and I filed out of the classroom, following Spencer. We arrived at his locker, looking at the number quickly. 2224. Yes that's the right one. We put it into that one yesterday, I swear. It probably just fell out or something... So, Annie and I walked to our lockers (which are actually pretty close together) and packed up. I pulled a post- it note and pencil out of my bag while quickly rewriting my note, this time, adding my phone number. Annie and I ran to his locker and slipped the note into the slit of his locker, smiling to myself and thinking, "He better get this one."

School was over, so as usual, I started fro my mom's classroom, when I was stopped by Caroline. She began walking with me as I explained what happened in science, unable to control myself. When I finished, we were silent, walking to the building that held my mom's classroom, and Caroline passing her bus.

"Are you coming to the classroom today?" I asked. She nodded and we walked in, greeted by some familiar faces. Kennadi, who is the Principal of the elementary school's daughter, and Mackenzie and Sarah, who's dad shares a classroom with my mom.

Immediately, we caught Caroline up on what she missed. Obviously she hasn't been at the classroom in a while, since she's always with goddamn Lucy. But, anyways, Kennadi started showing her videos that we all made on iMovie, which sparked an idea in Caroline's head.

We spent the rest of the time working on an iMovie Trailer about a crazy murderer (Sarah) with Caroline and Kennadi as victims. I captured the videos. When Caroline left, I thought to myself, today was a good day...
