Niall’s POV

I was still waiting for a call from the hospital, and its been two days since the test. I could tell that Ella has been nervous, too. She has been constantly chewing on her sweater sleeves, and looking at herself in the mirror. Harry is trying to get closer to her, and she is slowly getting to know him more than media says, and she is learning to trust us more and more. It’s just taking her some time, really.

“Niall, have you got a call yet?” She asked, her voice slightly shaky.

“No, but maybe soon. They said it should be done by today.”

She nodded as she took a deep breath.

“Niall, why am I feeling so… so nervous?”

“I don’t know, but don’t worry, I feel nervous too. Just waiting to see, really, is what is getting on my nerves. I haven’t seen her for seventeen years…”

I was interrupted with my phone ringing. I looked up to see the clinics number. I looked over at Ella to see her eyes wide as she looked up at me. I took a deep breath as I answered.

“Mr. Niall Horan?”

“This is he,”

“We have your current test results, but we would like you to come to the clinic, just you two, okay?”

“Okay. Thanks, ma’am.”

“You’re welcome.”

I hung up and grabbed Ella’s hand.

“We have to go to the clinic, just us.”

“Okay? Bad news?”

“Hopefully not,” I chuckled as we put on our sunglasses.

She shimmied into the passenger seat as I turned on the car. She kept her focus on her hands as she picked at her nails.

I drove off to the clinic, nervous of what they were going to say. Ella looks up at me and I quickly look away. I don’t like her, I just want her to feel that if I’m not nervous, there is nothingto feel nervous about. I stop outside the small building and Ella takes slow, deep breaths as she opens her door.

“iTS OKAY, eLLA.” I try calming her down as I take her hand and we near our way to the nerve-wrecking doors. We go inside as the computer woman looks up at us, smiling.

“Hi, Mr. Horan.”

I smile and nod as I lick my lips, which is becoming a habit when I get nervous.

“Go with Anna back to the laps waiting room and she will tell you all you need to know.” She kept smiling, and I could notice she was trying to hide her smile. I gently squeeze Ella’s hand to make sure she is okay, and she squeezes my hand back. We follow Anna to the back of the clinic as we arrive to the chairs we sat in just days ago.

“Niall Horan…” She looked at me and then scanned her list.

“That is me.” My voice comes out scared and shaky.

“Okay, and Ella Rosewood is the girl you took the test with,” she confirms. Ella nods and bites her lip.

“Okay, your tests came out negative.” Anna says, still scanning her papers.

Ella lets go of my hand and sits down, running her fingers through her hair and rubs her eyes. We are nearly out the door when we hear Anna yell for us to wait. Ella rolls her eyes as she spins around on her heel. Her eyes are turning red, and she looks like she might cry.

“I’m so sorry, I read the wrong page! Your tests show that you two are related. It’s positive. Again, I apologize for scaring you guys like that!” Anna looks at us. My eyes grow wide as I turn to look at Ella. A tear had already fell when we were walking back over, but her blue eyes got much brighter once Anna told us our actual results.
