Bella Narcissa Malfoy

The Potter girl

Bella was sitting alone in a cabin on the train when three girls walked in. They smiled at her and sat down.

One girl had white hair and looked almost like a ghost, one had ginger hair and a round face, and the third looked older with her ginger hair tied in a ponytail. One sat next to her and the other two across on the other bench.

"I'm Starla Longbottom, what's your name?" One girl sitting across from her asked. Bella smiled and replied.

"Bella Malfoy," she stuck out her hand and Starla reluctantly took it. She was scared of the name, obviously, everyone was. The girl next to her looked at the third girl and back at Bella.

"I'm Lily Potter and this is my cousin Rose Weasley. She's in second year. " She said. Bella shook hands with both of them. Bella couldn't believe she had just met Harry Potter's daughter, well she could have, was there many Potters in the wizarding community? She didn't know.

"So what house do you think you will be put in?" Bella asked after a short moment of silence. Lily silently thanked her for speaking for fear of being silent the whole journey there.

"I'm in Gryffindor, both my parents were too. You might have heard of them, Hermione Granger and Ron Weasley." Rose said. Lily rolled her eyes. She was always bragging about how her parents saved everyone.

"I think you'll find that my dad was the one who did most of the hard work. He was the Chosen One, remember?" Lily said in a jokey bragging voice.

Bella already felt like she had friends even if she wasn't sure how they felt about her. "I don't know what house I will be in, my dad was a Gryffindor and my mum was a Ravenclaw." Starla said. "My parents are Luna Lovegood and Neville Longbottom."

"I don't know either," Bella admitted. "My whole family has been sorted into Slytherin but my brother is a Gryffindor." Lily seemed genuinely interested in her story.

"So both your parents are Slytherin?" She asked and Bella shook her head.

"My dad is but my mum isn't a witch. She's a Muggle." Bella said cautiously. Yes you read correctly Draco Malfoy married a Muggle! Lily's mouth fell open in shock.

"My dad told me of his first year and he said that your father didn't even like half-bloods. He picked on Rose's mum because her parents were dentists. He even let his aunt carve mudblood into her arm." Bella's eyes prickled with tears but she refused to let it fall.

She quickly excused herself from the cabin and walked 'till she found Scorpius. By the time she did tears were streaming down her face. He noticed and took her into an empty cabin.

"What happened Bella?" He asked after she stopped crying.

"I met Lily Potter and she said that dad bullied Hermione Granger for being a mudblood." She sniffled. "Even let aunt Bellatrix carve it into her arm." Scorpius hugged her again and let her cry into his robes.

"Bella I think you should go back there and tell Lily that dad has changed. Also punch her." He joked that last bit and wiped her tears. She nodded and walked back to the cabin with Lily, Rose and Starla in.

"I'm sorry for leaving so fast but I had some business to attend to with my brother." She said, trying to sound posh.

"Bella, you don't have to pretend to be someone your not. Just be yourself. And we don't judge your father for his past. Nor do we judge you because of your family." Rose said. "My mother said that she forgives him and wished she could tell him that."

Bella sat down next to Lily again and they chatted until one of the 4th years came in and told them to get their robes on because they would be arriving at the castle soon.

Bella learned a lot about Lily and Rose's family. Lily had two older brothers, one in 2nd year and one in 3rd, both in Gryffindor and Rose had a younger brother who was starting next year.

She learned that Harry Potter had been offered a place at the Ministry of Magic, but declined it and taken a place at Hogwarts, teaching defence against the dark arts (DADA), and was starting that year. He was making his own way there and would be there for the sorting ceremony.

Also that Starla's mum was a woman who was on the TV (some Muggle thing that Bella had watched Draco trying to figure out for weeks before her mother stepped in) and presented the weather to everyone.

And that Rose had made her mum go into labour at her and Ron's wedding reception. Bella no longer worried about finding friends because friends had found her.
