Mackenzie grimaced at the Abby Lee Dance Company.

No more little studios for me, she told herself, not now I'm leaving this town.

It was an interesting thought for an 12-year-old girl, and she felt very grown up thinking it.

But Mackenzie couldn't quite place the belonging she had at Abby's, and the love of the many fans who coveted Mackenzie and her teammates, just because they watched forty minutes of the girls each week on Dance Moms.

Maddie was listening to music, texting some boy, or eight, because although Mackenzie and her sister were homeschooled, Maddie went to a lot of parties.

Mackenzie wasn't boy-crazy just yet, she felt content with the life-size posters of Justin Bieber plastered to her wall, like some sort of creepy shrine.

Maddie liked older boys, she'd confided this to Paige while Mackenzie listened.

Mackenzie, being the comical person she was, had poked her head round Maddie's door, and proclaimed, "I like boys who are ten years older then me!"

Meaning Justin Bieber, of course.

They ambled to the studio doors, valiantly ignoring the cameras.

"Melissa! What's this about you and your family moving to LA?"

Mackenzie snickered to Maddie at Abby, who was standing with her arms crossed, leaning heavily on the counter of the front desk.

Poor desk.

The girls watched as Melissa explained dramatically to Abby the predicament- which basically was that the girls would be attending a prestigious performing arts academy and living it up in LA.

Maddie looked superbly bored, but she obviously had better plans then to listen to their mothers ramblings.

"Quick, Kenz," the older girl spoke quietly, grasping Kenzie's wrist gently, "let's ditch this."

Mackenzie nodded eagerly, and, cat-like smiles on their faces, they snuck out to the den.

All of their dance friends knew- Melissa had organized a party, inviting the whole studio, the whole studios familes, and, today, Abby.

But still, they crowded around the two, greeting them warmly.

"But this is your last week! It's not fair!" Chloe pouted. Chloe was now 14, and she too, like Maddie, was boy crazy.

Maddie suddenly began chattering eagerly to Chloe about the very subject, and the two of them, Kendall, Nia and Paige huddled in a corner, talking about it.

Brooke Hyland ignored them just as much as she usually did, She would be leaving school and the ALDC soon, she had much better stuff to do. Brooke Kosinski sat with Mackenzie, as she usually did.

Brooke, like Mackenzie, wasn't crazy about boys, although Mackenzie and her did quite often drool over One Direction.

Mackenzie was delighted when Brooke had been a new addition to the team, to challenge Mackenzie. She was also lucky it didn't turn out like the Asia situation, where Mackenzie constantly came second best. Mackenzie could and had won against Brooke, and vice versa.

In fact, Mackenzie had come first to Brooke's second that weekend before. She's been hoping for the best for this pyramid, but she knew her sister would most likely get the top spot, due to her 'outstanding' first place win in the teen category.

The moms were now crowded around Abby, and they all burst through into the den, causing a commotion.

"Girls! Moms! Pyramid time!"
