present time ~ June 16th, 2019
Maddie is chattering away to the extensive makeup crew and the E! crew downstairs. They're prepping to be live, so they're filming a little bit of what's happening backstage- footage which will be used eventually.
"Kenz!"
I smile brightly, taking my sister's outstretched hand and letting her lead me to the lady who we'll be showing around.
"Kenz, this is Diana. Diana, Mackenzie."
I beam at Diana and hug her.
"So nice to meet you! Hope you enjoy the house tour."
"Oh, I'm sure I will!" she said, "you two are just so intriguing! I can tell I'll be a major fan of the new show."
"Yeah, we're so excited! But we'll save that for the interview later, right?" Maddie winked and Diana giggled.
"Of course, sweetheart, now I best let you two get ready!"
"LIVE IN FIVE MINUTES," yells one of the camera dudes.
A look of excitement flashes across Maddie's features. Either she's acting, or she's just genuinely excited to have this live interview sprung on us.
Maddie gently pulls me over to give me a glass of water and make sure I haven't smudged any of the makeup, and with that, she tells someone that we will be ready downstairs.
The next few minutes are a blur.
Maddie and I stand just inside the door to our mega mansion, as the film crew take panning shots of the place.
Diana begins to talk.
"Hey, E! news, it's Diana here, and as Deric told you, I was the lucky person chosen to go interview the lovely Madison and Mackenzie Ziegler, but first, we're getting a much coveted LIVE tour of their LA home, just ahead of the release of their new reality show. I've just been talking to the gorgeous girls, so let's go ahead and start this tour!"
She knocks on the door, and Maddie opens it, smiling widely.
We hug Diana and from that moment on, I let stardom take over my brain and launch myself into being the Mackenzie Ziegler, girl superstar.
Before I know it, the house tour is finished and it's an ad break- and a break from being live.
In the break, we rush into the biggest sitting room and the crew sort it out so Maddie and I have a couch to sit on and Diana has a comfy chair.
The lounge room looks glamorous and gorgeous, and so do Maddie and I, sitting there, poised, ready to go live any second.
"FIVE, FOUR, THREE, TWO, ONE- AND WE ARE LIVE."
The little red dot to show we are live flicks on, Diana says her second introduction, and the questions begin.
"So, the first question is about your show! How'd you find out you were offered the oppurtunity?"
"Well..." Maddie turned to smile at me, then back to Diana, "Ryan Seacrest contacted us, and once he'd visited our house and we'd worked out the contract, the deal was on."
"Any other details about the show that we haven't heard yet?"
This time, I answered, because Maddie had drilled me on what to say and what not to say.
"As much as we'd love to tell all, it's still under wraps for now, but all will be revealed soon!"
Diana laughed, "not soon enough!"
