"You don't talk much, huh?"

Mihael glared at Randall who held his hands up defensively. "Sorry, just an observation."

"Well you're pretty calm and casual considering the zombie apocalypse just kicked off, or had you not noticed?" Mihael said.

"I don't think-" Randall was cut off by Mihael's phone going off. He quickly unlocked his phone and read the message. "Yes and yes. I met a group and I'm perfectly fine, are you?". He let out a sigh of relief and began typing his response. "Yeah, I met this dude and I'm almost to Linda's, but my phone is dying. I'll find you babe, I promise. I love you." He hit send and placed his phone back in his pocket.

"Boyfriend?"

"Yeah. Come on, we're getting close." Mihael said. They picked up the pace as Mihael led them through the streets to get to Linda's house. They arrived a few minutes later and Mihael carefully walked up the steps, who knew what traps she had set for zombies. Luckily, they made it to the door safely. Mihael knocked and out of the corner of his eye, saw the curtains in a window shuffle slightly. Undoubtedly, the ever paranoid Linda.

When she opened the door she was brandishing a pink softball bat threateningly at Randall, "Did you know there was a dude following you?"

Mihael rolled his eyes, "Yes, Linda. Can you relax? His names Randall."

"Is he cool?"

"So far, yes," Mihael said. Randall couldn't help but be proud that someone as surly as Mihael said he was cool. Linda gave him a look, but let them inside. They walked in to the living room and Mihael sat on the couch. Randall opted to stand awkwardly next to it while Linda barricaded the door.

"What, do your legs not bend?" Linda said as she walked by him.

"Uh, yeah, they bend."

"Then sit. What are you waiting for, a zombie's permission?" She said as she took a seat next to Mihael. Randall sat stiffly in the armchair next to him. "So why are you guys here exactly?"

"I couldn't think of anywhere safer in an apocalypse, and I was hoping Geoff would be here." Mihael said.

"Well, you were right about the first thing, but I haven't seen or talked to Geoff since yesterday."

Mihael's face lit up like a Christmas tree, "You talked to him yesterday? Was he okay? Does he hate me? What-"

"Relax, dude. He called me, and while he was okay physically and stuff, he was still pretty broken up over that fight of yours. What was that over by the way? He wouldn't say, just that it was all his fault," Linda placed a hand on Mihael's shoulder. He sighed and glanced up to see Randall looking around awkwardly, clearly having no clue what they were talking about.

"Can we not get into that now?"

Linda recoiled slightly but quickly turned to Randall, "So, what's your story?"

Randall looked relieved to be included in the conversation, "I'm a self defense instructor for the community center near my house. I was there when all this started. I also have this thing with helping people, it's why I do what I do."

Linda nodded and turned to Mihael, "You're sure about this guy?"

"Yeah, whatever," Mihael looked to the side as his cheeks turned pink slightly. Linda laughed and nudged him with her elbow.

"Alright, you big softie. I assume you have a weapon?" Linda said. Mihael held up the makeshift spear and Linda raised an eyebrow, glancing from him to the weapon. "Are you kidding me? You've literally tied a knife to a stick and you're calling it a weapon."

"Shut up, I was rushing. I have a hammer too," Mihael said with a scowl.

"Well, let's fix up that knife stick and get you some real weapons shall we?"

I'm so sorry for the wait, I made a stupid decision and completely overloaded myself with work. On the bright side, I got the job done and I'm back. Sorry!
