The first day of senior year. School is always a blast, right? Yeah no. I mean i may be considered a nerd by other people, but hey even I don't like school.
So I should probably introduce myself, not that there is much to explain. I'm Hazel Moore. So I'm around 5'7, and in my own opinion on the chubby side. I have dark brown hair in annoying curls that get more tangled than a pair of headphones that have been in a backpack for a decade. My eyes are the typical old poop brown and I have tan skin. Like I said, not much to explain.
Back to what I was saying, the dreaded first day of the school year. Today was important. The day to impress anyone that would be worth impressing. So I had to put in the extra effort of straightening my hair and putting on a casual red and white striped t-shirt dress. Oh and don't forget the ever so itchy makeup.
"Have a good first day honey!" my dad said, dropping me off because I totaled my car last week. Oops.
"Sure dad. School will be super duper fun. Bye, love you," I laughed, getting out of the car.
Walking to the front of the school, I spotted my forever beautiful best friend who was always at school before me. Obviously we had hung out over summer but it still felt like I hadn't seen her in forever.
"Delaney! Heyyyyyyyy!" I walked over to hug my best friend.
"Hi babe," Delaney said to me with a smile. No we were not a couple, but ever since our project in 7th grade where we had to pretend to be a couple, it became our own thing.
Delaney Terrence is really pretty but is totally modest about it. She has brownish blonde , straight hair that goes down to her thighs. She's around 5'8 and very skinny. She doesn't have a lot of curves but that look suites her a lot. She has pale skin and adorable freckles. Her eyes are a beautiful hazel color. She seems very mature but when you get to know her, she's totally crazy. She doesn't give a crap about what most people think, at least that's what she lets people think, I know she has self-esteem issues. I still love her though. She's also always there to give advice.
Both of us are pretty weird so we get along really well and have many similar interests. We started laughing and talking about the most random things, just like we always do, and that's when I saw him. Troy Miller. Ugh that fuck boy. Why did girls like him anyway? With his big black glasses. He was around 6'2 and was a football, baseball, and volleyball player. Yeah unfortunately he had talent. He annoyed me because he got so many girls at night and dumped them like they were trash the next morning. He had basically been with every girl at our school. A few years back, he had broken the hearts of two girls that I was kind of friends with. So that made me hate him even more. Anyway, he had an ego the size of Australia and was annoying as heck.
"What are you staring at?" I hear Delaney gasp, "Do you like Troy or something?" Delaney asked looking a little disgusted. Delaney didn't have a good history with Troy. She had known him longer than I have. Honestly I don't know why she doesn't like him, I don't even think she remembers why either. I don't really mind her dislike for him. I felt the same anyway, maybe even worse.
"Ewwwwwwwwww! Not in a million years" I scrunched my nose up in disgust.
"Good, just making sure. He doesn't deserve your attention," Delaney said calmly.
Just then he turned around and saw me looking at him, he smirked. Seriously a smirk? If you looked up fuck boy on the internet, his picture would be pulled up. That exact second the bell rang so Delaney and I started walking towards our homeroom.
Walking into the classroom, the teacher had already assigned us seats. Oh joy. Seriously? This is senior year, not third grade! I found my schedule conveniently placed on my assigned desk. I compared it to Delaney's and saw I had gym, Science, and English with her. Of course we had hoped to have all the same classes, but I guess that wasn't too bad.
Delaney went back to her seat to compare her schedule with some of our other friends.
I noticed that Nash and Jay were sitting really close by me and I smiled at them. They are literally like brothers to me. I could also rely on them. They were amazing guys but I have never thought of them as anything more...I think.
"I haven't seen you guys in so long," I said cheerfully, happy to see my friends again.
"What's up?" Nash asked while doing the little head nod thing, and jay laughed back. These two were the least shy people I'd ever met.
Nash had tan skin and black hair. he was pretty tall which made him a great basketball player. He also did dance and played the guitar. His talents were endless.
Jay was the funniest person in our grade. He was also pretty tall and muscular but he was a soccer player. He could make anyone laugh no matter how they were feeling, unless it was Delaney though since she didn't like him all that much, and he always hid his sadness behind his charming smiles.
As Delaney and I were walking to our first class, which was gym, we saw all of the new freshmen, who were awed by the sheer size of our school and getting lost which I had to admit was pretty funny. It was a pretty big school with about two thousand students.
I got through the rest of the day greeting and hugging people I hadn't seen over summer. And a lot of pretending to like people I really, absolutely, totally disliked. And being miserable that I didn't have Delaney in all of my classes. I also had all of the jocks in my classes for some weird unknown reason.
As the day finally ended, I was tired as heck so I said goodbye to my friends and walked over to where my mom was waiting for me in the car. I went home and decided to mentally prepare myself to do this for another nine months.
