The first time I met your father, I thought he was a complete creep. Always flirting with me and following me in the halls. Sakura seemed to be trying to stop him, but he kept pushing her aside.

"Uhm... Thank you?" The red head awkwardly said, trying to push past Sasuke. Sakura was repeatedly face palming at her best friend's stupidity, she didn't think he was serious!
"You're Karin, right?" Sakura asked, getting the redhead past the Uchiha.
"Oh, yes I am. How did you know?" Karin asked, a little uneasy. Sensing this, the pinkette laughed. "No worries, your dad told me."
Karin relaxed and was about to reply to her before Sakura was pushed aside, and Sasuke came into view again. "Karin, what a lovely name. I'm Sasuke." He said, sticking out a hand for her to shake. Karin awkwardly took his hand and shook it, before pulling away quickly.
"Sasuke listen, I met up with the principle this morn-" Sakura tried to explain but was cut off as Sasuke pushed her away, he was seriously going to do something dumb.
"Oh the principle, have you met him Karin? He's nasty, old, mean and very bald." Sasuke said, putting an arm around her shoulder. Karin's temper was quickly rising, how dare he insult her father like that?!
"Sasuke wait! The principle said-" Sakura was cut off, again.
"Don't speak, teachers pet." Sasuke said, shoving her aside a bit. He then pointed to the principle who was down the hall, "you see him? That's the principle, he's always yelling." Sasuke didn't have anything against the principle, it's just that he wanted to look cool infront of the redhead.
Suddenly the principle looked towards them smiled, before quickly walking over.
"Oh no, here he comes." Sasuke muttered, glancing over at the unimpressed Karin.
"Karin! I missed you!" The principle said when he finally reached them.
"I missed you too dad." Karin said, hugging her father.
"Hello Sakura!" The principle smiled at the pinkette, she was one of the few good students at this school.
"Wait, dad?!" Sasuke widened his eyes, "Shit." He mumbled, leaning against Sakura's shoulders.
"You should've listened to me." Sakura said, she felt no pity for the idiot leaning on her.
After the father-daughter reunion, Karin walked up to the Uchiha.
"Nasty? Sometimes. Mean? Barely. Bald? 70%." And then she walked off, Sakura laughing at the depressed boy was all she heard in the background.
"So Sasuke, was she the one?" The pinkette asked her best friend.
"Nah." He replied nonchalantly, putting his hands in his pockets.
"What?! Why not?" Sakura asked, quickly following him as he walked away.
"She's not my type, girls like her barely have talent or smarts. She's just like the rest of the girls at this school."
"No she's not, she came from Oxford! C'mon give her a chance." Sakura begged.
Sasuke sighed. "Fine, if she can show me she's not all looks but no brain and talents then maybe."
-
At lunch, Sakura met up with Karin. "Hey Karin, how were your classes so far?"
"Oh, they were alright.." She replied.
"Can you sing by any chance?"
"Somewhat, why?"
"I, uh.. Need someone to practice with me for choir, can you help me?"
Karin thought for a minute before nodding with a smile, following the girl to the choir room. Inside, they met Sasuke Uchiha once again. Much to Karin's pleasure, he didn't show much interest in the new arrivals.
"Sakura, who is that Sasuke guy anyways?" Karin questioned, the two seemed pretty close.
"Oh, he's my best friend! We met during our first year." Sakura replied, a bright smile on her face. "Anyways, we're gonna sing Young and Beautiful by Lana Del Rey, is that okay?"
"Oh, yeah that's cool."
As they began singing, everyone stopped what they were doing to watch. Only one thought ran through Sakura's mind, 'I hope this works.'. Their voices mixed together well, and captured the attention of everyone in the room. As soon as Sakura was sure Sasuke was watching, she stopped singing and gave the spotlight to Karin, who was too caught up in singing to notice.
Sasuke widened his eyes, 'so she does have talent.' Right then he felt something, like butterflies in his stomach as he watched the redhead. Maybe he would give her a chance.
-
Sasuke decided he would first need to make Karin his friend, pretty easy. At least, that's what he thought. You see, Karin just wanted to graduate, she had barely any interest in the creepy boy that confessed his love to her on the first day. His pink haired friend however, was somewhat a friend to her at the moment, she hoped they became closer during the school year. After avoiding the Uchiha in the halls all day, he finally caught up to her and gave her a flirtatious smirk.
"Hey, how 'bout we be friends?" He said, trying to act cool. He attempted to lean against the lockers, only to miss and trip as he tried to regain his balance.
Karin rolled her eyes and walked away, causing Sasuke to frown. Guilt coiled in her stomach however, she felt like she was being a total bitch to him. Turning around to face him, she stared straight into his eyes as she talked.
"If you want to be my friend, show me that you're serious and not just trying to get in my pants."
She then turned on her heel and walked down the hall, leaving a crestfallen boy in her trail.
-
Over the next few days, Sasuke spent more and more time attempting to gain Karin's friendship, so much that he barely noticed what was happening to his best friend. She had become less lively in the recent days, and it was not just because of the Uchiha ignoring her. She had recently received word that her father had fallen ill, though she was told not to worry about it. Her mother said she would call if Sakura ever needed to come back, but she should also be prepared for the inevitable. The night she found out, she had wished on a shooting star, something she always made fun of Sasuke for doing yet she secretly did it too.
'I wish everything turns out alright.'
