Sakura Haruno was a tomboy, and a star at basketball. Your father could never beat her, they fought a lot but were the best of friends.

~•~

A pink haired girl tied up her hair after putting on her gym uniform, she then headed towards the gym. As she waited for her best friend to finish putting on his uniform she decided to shoot some practice hoops, her short pink ponytail flew behind her as she ran. Suddenly her path was blocked by none other than a dark haired uchiha.

"Tiring yourself out before we even start the game, Haruno?" Sasuke mocked, a smirk on his face.

"Even if I was tired I would still beat you." Sakura retorted.

"Hn, game on!" And they began.

Sakura got shots in like it was her job, meanwhile Sasuke hadn't even gotten one yet. Every time she got a point she mocked Sasuke with a funny chicken dance, making him roll his eyes. Suddenly, just as Sakura was about to make another shot she tripped... On Sasuke's outstretched foot. The Uchiha grabbed the ball and got a shot as Sakura got up, cheering for himself when it got in.

"Hey, cheater!" Sakura pouted, crossing her arms.

Sasuke stopped cheering and walked up to her, crossing his own arms and looking down at her. "Don't call me a cheater."

"Cheater! Cheater! Cheater!" Sakura chanted, causing Sasuke to get annoyed.

"Tch, whatever!" Sasuke said, walking past her.

"Hmph." Sakura walked out the other way, some best friend he was... And that fall had really hurt too.

As she was walking away, a little voice in her head spoke. 'He's your best friend, you can't stay mad at him.' Her eyes softened as she turned around and watched him walk out of the gym.

Sasuke was annoyed at Sakura, but he did feel a little guilty for tripping her. Suddenly two guys walked past him, both talking about something.

"Did you hear, Sasuke and Sakura fought!" One guy said, people here sure liked to gossip.

'Isn't she your best friend? Go back and apologize!'

Sasuke stopped, whatever that voice was, it was right. Turning on his heel, he ran back to the gym. Inside he saw Sakura sitting on the bleachers, messing with a basketball in her hands. Once she heard his footsteps she looked up, only to immediately look away once she saw it was him. Sasuke sat beside her in silence for a while before finally speaking.

"I'm sorry.." He muttered, making Sakura turn towards him.

"I'm sorry too.." She said, they smiled at each other and did their signature hand shake. They walked out with big smiles on their faces as they chatted before going their separate ways and going home.

"I'm home, Aunty Tsunade!" Sakura called out as she opened the door. To go to such a high class college she had to leave her parents and live with her aunt, but it didn't bother her too much. If she hadn't come to this college, she would have never met her best friend. Tsunade also housed several other girls, all who were obsessed with makeup and boys, Sakura didn't understand why though.

"Welcome home Sakura! Ah, I'm so glad you're not all about getting a guys attention like them." Tsunade said, gesturing to the girls.

Sakura laughed. "Were they pestering you on tips again?"

"Yup.." Tsunade groaned, then looked up at the girl. "So, any boys catch your attention? Perhaps a certain raven haired one?"

"No way! Sasuke's my best friend, there's no way we could like each other!" Sakura said, rolling her eyes. As if she would ever like Sasuke of all people, he's the local playboy for Pete's sake!

Tsunade only laughed as she turned around and headed to the kitchen.

The morning before Sakura went to meet Sasuke, she met up with the school's principle, Mr. Uzumaki. He was a fairly old man with red hair and brown-gray eyes, his wife had passed away a couple years back.

"Good morning, Mr. Uzumaki!" Sakura greeted, a bright smile on her face.

"Ah good morning Sakura, I have great news!" The man said, turning to the pinkette. "My daughter is coming to finish her last year of college here!"

"That's wonderful, where did she go before?" Sakura questioned.

"Oxford, she's very smart! Her name's Karin, she has red hair like mine and brown eyes. She'll be easy to pick out just like you, since her hair colour isn't common."

"I see, I'll look out for her then. Goodbye!" Sakura said, before walking towards her school.

Today was 'friendship day' which meant Sasuke was going to have a busy day, making tons of girls think that they're the one.

"Did you see the friendship bracelet Sasuke gave me? He said I'm the only one he's giving one to!" A nearby girl squealed as Sakura walked past, making the pinkette roll her eyes. As usual her short hair was pulled back by a sweatband, today it was pink. Up ahead she saw her best friend flirting with another girl, typical.

"Ino, you're the only girl I'm giving a bracelet to, because you're special." Sasuke said as he tied the bracelet around the girl's wrist, her cheeks were scarlet.

"R-really?" Ino asked, blushing more when he nodded and smirked.

Sakura rolled her eyes for the millionth time today and decided to do the poor blonde a favour, she walked behind Sasuke and pulled out the multiple friendship bracelets he had in his back pocket before showing them to Ino.

"You- you player!" Ino yelled, taking the bracelet off and throwing it on the ground before storming off.

Sasuke turned to Sakura and frowned. "Not cool."

"I was only doing the poor girl a favour." The pinkette defended. "Anyways you need to stop chasing around every pretty girl you see and start getting serious!"

"None of these girls are my type, so it doesn't matter." He replied.

"Well, what is your type?"

Sasuke thought for a minute. "She has to be pretty, but also smart. Like if she walks down the halls, everyone stops to stare at her. If she stops, everything else stops too. If I see her, I'll get this feeling, like something amazing happened."

"And what will you do when you meet her?"

"I'll tell her I love her." Sasuke said, turning around. When he did he bumped straight into someone, she had red hair and brown eyes that shone in the light.

Sakura immediately recognized the girl, her red hair gave it away. That was the principle's daughter, no mistake. The first thought that ran through her mind was to get her away from Sasuke before he did anything stupid, but she was too late.

Sasuke stared at the girl in awe for a moment before attempting to put on a 'sexy' smirk. "I love you."
