Back then, I was oblivious to Sakura's feelings, your father was too. Every time we got closer, it was like a small crack would form on her. It was only a matter of time until she broke, completely.

Today was the annual music festival, where schools compete with each other to see who has the best musical talents. Sasuke and Sakura always went together, and this year was no different. Karin had plans to go with some other students, so it was just her and Sasuke. Kuranai, who was in charge of the school's performance, was panicking. Their performers were stuck in traffic and they were supposed to perform next! Mr. Uzumaki attempted to calm the woman down, but it didn't work so well. Then, a sudden idea popped into her head. Who better to replace her performers than the two most lively kids in the school? She immediately sent out some volunteers to go find them.
Sasuke and Sakura looked at each other before turning back to their teacher, confused looks on their faces.
"Ms. K, we do know how to play instruments but not the song your performers were going to play." Sakura explained.
"Please! You don't have to do anything, just pretend to play the instruments and lip sync. We have the song already, so you don't have to worry!" Their teacher begged.
With a sigh, Sasuke nodded. Sakura sent him an incredulous look but he simply shrugged it off, taking the girl's hand and dragging her onto the stage. A small blush dusted her cheeks, but she managed to control herself so he wouldn't notice. Getting on stage, Sakura picked up an electric guitar while Sasuke sat behind the drums. Sakura motioned for Kuranai to play the track, but when it did a completely different song played. It was classical music, which made everyone in the audience confused. Not knowing what to do, Sasuke and Sakura looked at each other before pretending to play their instruments. The scene was quite funny actually, too bad they received a lot of 'boo's. Slowly losing hope, they stopped pretending to play as the crowd threw pop cans and wrappers at them. They were about to walk off stage when the sound of a guitar filled their ears, making them spin on their heels.
Sasuke's eyes sparkled once he saw who it was, and Sakura had to admit she was happy too. Karin walked on to the stage as she strummed her guitar to an unfamiliar tune, nonetheless, Sakura picked up her guitar again and began following her pattern. Sasuke sat behind the drums again to give them a bass, soon they were playing an upbeat song that had the crowd dancing. Not soon after, the performers finally made it and took over the instruments, letting the group of three dance along with the rest of the dancers. It was so fun, dancing with her best friend. But fun only lasts so long, because Sasuke soon forgot about her again. Letting go of Sakura's hand, Sasuke moved across the stage to dance with Karin. Shrugging it off, Sakura tried to dance again. Looking around, she saw everyone else dancing with someone else. Meanwhile, she was alone. Sasuke was across the stage, not even sparing her a glance as he danced with the red head. The pinkette's green eyes dulled before glassing over, she slowly slipped off stage and ran towards the front entrance of the theatre. Sitting on a bench not too far from the exit, Sakura finally let her tears flow down her face.
She knew she never had a chance with him the minute she figured out her feelings, she shouldn't be surprised that he had no interest in her. Karin was beautiful and girly, while Sakura refused to wear dresses unless it was a very special occasion and had a huge forehead. She was his best friend, only his best friend. She shouldn't feel like this, so why won't her tears stop.

Sasuke decided to visit Karin tonight, he quickly walked towards her house, only to see her leaning on her windowsill and staring at the sky. Her normally open hair was tied in a lose ponytail and a pair of black glasses adorned her face, not wanting the principle to hear him call out to her, Sasuke looked around for another way to get her attention. Scanning the area, he found a tree that led right outside her window. Quickly scaling the tree, Sasuke hopped into her room through the window. The red head now sat on her bed reading a book, her head snapped up once she heard the thump of his shoes hit her floor.
"S-Sasuke?! What are you doing here?" She asked, setting her book down on her nightstand.
"I came to visit, why else?" He replied, a cheeky grin plastered on to his face.
Karin rolled her eyes but smiled nonetheless, it was a nice gesture after all. Cliche, but nice. "There's something called a door y'know." She said, a teasing smirk on her face.
Sasuke sheepishly rubbed the back of his neck. "I didn't think your dad would let me in.."
Karin was about to reply when her father's voice sounded outside the door. "Karin? What was that noise I heard just now?"
"Sasuke, get out." The red head hissed, hearing her father's footsteps approach.
Sasuke nodded quickly and... jumped out of the window. Karin gasped and ran over, only to see Sasuke hanging from a branch on the tree. He hopped down, branch by branch until he reached the ground. Karin sighed, 'that idiot! I almost had a heart attack!' She thought. As she watched him run across her yard and down the drive way, she couldn't help but smile. She really did like him.

Sasuke decided to pay a visit to Sakura next, since he hasn't seen her since the music festival. As he walked over to Tsunade's house, he bumped into a familiar pink haired girl.
"Sakura!" He exclaimed, hugging the girl. "I haven't seen you in forever, I thought you died!"
Sakura giggled, "Idiot." Sasuke pouted as he sat down on her yard. She sat down next to him as they looked up at the sky, enjoying each other's silence.
"Hey, Sakura?"
"Yeah?"
"Thank you."
Sakura turned to him. "For what?"
"For making me go for Karin, I really like her."
Sakura stayed silent, a small crack forming among the many others on her heart. Suddenly, a shooting star flew across their vision. They looked at each other and smiled, before wishing on it.
'I wish he loved me too.'
'I wish she loved me too.'
As they said those words, a raven haired boy popped up in Sakura's mind. Sasuke, however, thought of the beautiful red head he met up with not too long ago.
