Chapter 3

Dawn's POV

I finally found Jaxon, and got excited.
"H-hey Jaxon..." I said nervously.
"Hey Fawn!" He said as I stared at him.
"Oh... it's Dawn." I said awkwardly.
"Oh. Megan told me it was Fawn. I'm sorry, Dawn." He said grabbing a cup and filling it with drinks.
"I-it's fine." I said walking off. Megan has to be annoying and ruin things! Ugh. Well today wasn't the day I was going to be with Jaxon. He's been my crush since last year. I don't love him, like I did Brandon, but it's just a crush. But, Megan is so annoying!
   "Hey Fawn," I hear a voice say behind me. I turn around and see Brandon.
   "Hey, and it's Dawn," I say annoyed.
"Dawn I meant. Well see you." He says and then leaves.
   Jaxon comes up to me and we start talking.
   "Hey, sorry I called you Fawn earlier," he said awkwardly.
   "It's okay and you already apologized!" I said as my heart fluttered and my palms got sweaty.
   "I know I just wanted you to know that I meant it."        
We kept on talking. I didn't know what we were talking about though, it was hard to pay attention when you are looking at someone with ocean blue eyes. And you get lost every time you look. A couple hours later Hannah came over.
   "Hey, we need to get going," Hannah says.
   "Oh, okay... See ya later Jaxon." I say as Jaxon smiles his perfect smile.
Hannah and me got in the car and since my house is so close we were there in no time.
"Thanks Hannah, for cheering me up!" I shout as a run to my door.
"No prob!" She shouts back as she goes off. My dad was in the kitchen. At 12:01am?
"Hey dad! I'm just one minute late, please don't kill me!" I say as he laughed.
"It's fine, Dawn." My dad tells me.
"One minute is like nothing." He says. He's literally the best! I love him so much.
   "You better be going to bed!" My dad yells from downstairs.
   "I am getting ready right now," I yell back. I take a quick shower and change into my PJ's. Then I get into bed and go to sleep.

   The next morning I wake up late which means I am late to school. I get dressed, brush my teeth, brush my hair, and get ready to go. Then I remember that I forgot breakfast, but I have no time to eat. I run out to the car and drive to school. I run into the school. When I get in everyone is in the hallway either chatting, or making out. Usually making out. When I get to my locker I see Megan flirting with Jaxon! What the heck, she knows I like him?! I know what Megan is doing. She is flirting with him right next to my locker, so she knows that I am going to see them, together! I open my locker and do a couple fake coughs. *cough*cough* *ahem* *ahem*. I finally get Jaxon's attention.
   "Hey Dawn!" He says.
   "It's Fawn!" Megan says smirking.
   "You know that it is Dawn," I tell her.
   "Yeah, but you know what you did, I get to call you Fawn," she says. What the heck was she talking about?! I didn't do anything! I rolled my eyes.
I got the books I needed and got out of there! I ran into Cade on the way.
"Oh hey Cade!" I say smiling.
"Oh hey Dawn," he says. "Have you seen Emma today?"
"No. She's home sick, sadly. She just texted me." I say back.
"Oh, okay... I hope she gets better soon, though!" He says and we walk to class together. It's hard to keep my eyes open, but I manage. The next class is math. And I have to sit next to Megan! I walk in and see that Jaxon is in the seat next to mine! YAY! I walk over and sit down.
"H-hey Jaxon." I stutter.
"Oh, hey Dawn!" He said. Megan was sitting next to a girl with dyed tips. Mrs. Hautz came in.
"Class, today we have a new student... Would you please come up?" She announced.
I watched as the girl with the dyed tips walked up. She smirked and looked as annoying as Megan.
"Wow." Jaxon said staring her up and down. Ugh.
"Class, this is Jessica Hades!" Mrs. Hautz said.
I gasped and froze up. This was the Jessica. The girl Brandon left me for. She twirled her hair with her manicured fingers. I glared at her as she sat back down at her seat. Jaxon kept staring at her and I was upset. Finally class was dismissed and I went to my locker to get my books. Brandon came up to me with Jessica on his arm kissing stroking his face. Ew! I tried to not look at them and ignore them, but Brandon started talking to me.
"Hey Dawn! This is my n- *ahem*, girlfriend Jessica!" He said. Jessica grinned and said, "We've been together for almost two years!" She spoke as she twirled her hair and clung on to Brandon. I tried to fight back my tears, but I hated them. Brandon and Jessica kept on blabbing about their perfect relationship. Why was he doing this to me? He knows how much I hurt. I kept saying, "Mhmm." Because I couldn't get any words out without bursting out and crying. I couldn't take it anymore and sprinted off to the school's roof. I let all my tears go. It was chilly outside, but the cool air dried my tears a little. I gripped my sweatshirt on tighter. I was sobbing until I heard a familiar voice.
"Dawn? Are you okay?" The masculine voice asked me.
I spun around and Cade was there! I wiped all my tears and cleared my throat.
"I-I'm fine..." I lied. But we both knew I wasn't fine.
"Dawn... you can tell me." He said softly.
"F-fine... it's Brandon and Jessica! He left me for her and he's just... rubbing it in my face!" I cried.
Cade pulled me to him and hugged me tightly. I was in his arms, for what seemed forever, until he said, "Dawn? We're going to be late to class. C'mon."
I followed him and I stopped by the bathroom to try to clean the evidence that I was crying. My eyes were red and puffy. I tried to soothe it with a damp paper towel. It worked a little. I went out and Cade and me went into different directions... but I had a plan for Jaxon. I wanted to make Jaxon want me. He seems to be drooling over Megan and Jessica, so I'll dress a little more... fashionable. And Jessica has a boyfriend, and she flirts with other guys! She should be ashamed! I sat down in class and got scolded a little for being late, but I brushed it off. Brandon was in this class, along with Jessica. Ugh. They were secretly holding each other's hands under the desks. It made me furious, but also sad. He just had to leave me! I did everything for him. I was blocking everyone and everything else that I didn't notice class was over. We had about thirty minutes of free break, so I went to my locker where I kept that one outfit just in case. The outfit that was everything about fashion, just in case. Only for emergencies. And this was the time. I took the nicely wrapped box out of my locker and took it to the girl's locker room. I got changed into the clothes and fixed my hair up a little and applied makeup. I looked in the mirror and stared at my reflection. I looked so... different. I only fixed my hair and makeup up a little, so it was mostly just the outfit that was shining. I walked out of the locker room, and went into the hallways. Most of the guys stopped and looked at me, but where was Jaxon? I walked back into the hallways trying to find Jaxon, and just talk to him. I finally found him and he was well, nice again. Like not looking at Megan.
"H-hey Jaxon!" I said.
"Hey Dawn! You look nice." He said sweetly.
"So, what're you doing later tonight?" I asked, but my palms were sweating.
"Nothing much... I'm just hoping there's a party to go to since it's Friday." He said.
"O-oh... there is one actually!" I said quickly. "At my place!" What did I just do?!
"Cool! Am I invited?" He chuckled.
"O-of course!" I said and gave him my address.
This was it. I was going to get Jaxon to like me.
