In a Hotel

Ji Yeon POV

It had been almost 3 hours, and I had read all the entries that were legible in the entire set of journals.

Damn it Ji Yeon, you read all of them; and there goes your sleep.

The room phone rang at 5.30am, startling me.

"Your wake up call, Ma'am." The hotel operator spoke on the other end of the phone.

"Thank you, I am already awake." I replied, as I hadn't slept at all.

I called Air Asia.

"Hello? I'm Oh Ji Yeon, the author. I'd like to cancel my ticket for the Seoul to Busan flight this morning."

"Oh, hello Miss Oh! Sure, we will. Have a nice day!"

"Thank you."

I stretched out of bed and placed the journals back onto the coffee table.

I pulled out the slip of paper with Tae Hyung's paper. I texted him, "We need to talk, important. Meet me in my room. -Ji Yeon"

I placed my phone back into my handbag and proceeded to do my morning rituals.

Thirty minutes later, my room doorbell rings and I open it to see Tae Hyung. His sharp features were highlighted due to the morning sun.

"You must be a morning person Tae Hyung."

"Nah." He smirks, "I'm only here after seeing your text."

"I see you'll do almost anything for Jae Hyeon."

"Yeah." He shakes his head, smiling.

"Would you mind helping me make tea?" I asked him.

"You want Tae to make tea? Sure!"

I laughed at his pun.

"The kettle is above the minibar, by the way."

"I'll make milk tea."

"Go ahead,Tae."

Soon, he returns with two cups of milk tea.

"Here you go."

"Thanks."

I take a sip. "Oh my lord, now I know why you have Tae in your name, this tea is better than mine!"

He shows me that box-shaped smile of his as he sits next to me on the couch.

I cross my legs and place a strand of loose hair behind my ear.

"Tell me, why did you call me here?" He asked.

"Well, I..."

"Spill the beans." He wiggled his eyebrows.

He's a really fun guy. It's sad this had to happen to him.

"Okay, so I got intrigued and I ended up reading whatever I could from all the journals. I ended up not sleeping at all." I confessed.

"Omo~" His eyes grew wide and he hugged me.

"Thank you so much Ji Yeon-ah!" He said as he let go.

"Now, seriously, should I speak first or will you?" I ask.

The mood becomes serious and I see a blank expression on his face.

"About?"

"Miss Nam Jae Hyeon. Your half-girlfriend, or whatever she was."

He sighed.

"Do you think you knew her well?" I asked.

"Definitely." Came the response.

"Are you comfortable talking to me about her?"

He thought for a few seconds and nodded.

"Okay, so tell me everything. Tell me the story of Tae Hyung and Jae Hyeon."

"A story fate left incomplete." He added.

"Fate can be strange indeed." I said.

He nodded.

"Where do I start? When we first met?"

"Always a good place." I replied, leaning into the couch, making myself comfortable.
