It had been hard for her. She was hurt and tired, crying at nights, when she sang herself to sleep.

Waking up to a farce of a family, Kala did everything to go forward.

Studying, music, everything she did was imposed on her, be the best, act the best, reputation is everything- surely if it weren’t for her friends, she would have long gone crazy.

She ignored her past, forcefully forgot everything that happened.

Her brother’s death, the sexual assaults, kidnapping, attempt murder… the list was even longer.

Yeah, she hit jackpot when it came to bad luck.

It was one of those god forsaken days, where everything seemed so normal, that the turn of events hit her with the force of a truck.

Although, in her case it came as a flying vampire.

Getting accidentally involved in the werewolves hunting games, she should have died that night.

But Aaron took an interest in the girl who refused to surrender into the welcoming arms of death, and shared his blood with her. Blood of a monster, of an alpha. He made her his underling, told her rules she mostly ignored and protected at the best of his abilities.

Why? Because he was bored at the moment he found her, because he was taken in by her charms later.

It was ridiculous how indifferent and well she took everything in, thrust in a world of fantasy and gore, she still woke up with the same fake smile, still did her chores and studying. The only change was the man she shared a bed with, the same one that sneaked into her heart and mind. Of course he would never know.

Her life could have continued like it was normal, hadn’t it been for the secret in her blood.

She was a container, carrier of all the bloodlines and a being forbidden to exist.

Kala more or less fled the country, her past and family, with Aaron at her side she didn’t have to fear a thing. He was her savior and guardian.

She worked hard out of her own volition, lived for her dreams. She was happy. And that was what counted. For five years.

Until now that is.
