The moon shone through the window when I heard movement on the floor. I sat up to see Night getting up. I looked at the clock and she slept for three hours. "You can sleep if you want." She said while putting on socks. "I only need to get things for the store." She said while grabbing some stuff. "No, I'll go with you. "I said while yawning. She chuckled and looked at me with a smile. "You don't have to stay be me all the time." I nodded and got up. "No, I need to walk around anyway. I have a cramp on my leg." I lied. I really should be by her so I won't get lost. She sighed and said, "Fine, I guess I can have an escort with me. That area is pretty dangerous." She chuckled and clutched her hair. She looked up and at me. "I'll be leaving in five minutes. I need to check my bag anyway." She left the room and closed the door.

I got everything I need in less than five minutes and hurried to the door. She was waiting there for me and she had everything with her. "How's your shoulder?" She asked. I moved it and said, "Its fine. I guess it completely heals for a few hours." She nodded and handed me a cup. "It's coffee. I don't have a tea that has the same amount of caffeine as a cup of coffee." I nodded and took a sip. It was sweet. I guess she knows I have a sweet tooth. She opened the door and I followed her out of the store.

"Michael, do you have anything you need from your place?" She asked. I could grab some clothes. I can stop school for a while. I guess I only need to get clothes then. "I guess clothes." I replied. She looked around and asked, "Are you familiar with this area?" I looked around, I admit I do walk around here a lot.

"Yeah, I'm mostly familiar with this spot." I said while taking a sip of coffee. "Good, you should get your stuff and I can get my stuff. We can meet here before three in the morning. It would be more progressive to separate." She waved and started to walk a different direction. I waved back and head to my place.

It was half an hour later when I heard a crashing sound. It came from Night's direction. I drop my bags and ran towards that direction. I saw night and she was clutching her arm. Blood was staining her shirt and her eyes were different. She noticed me and said, "You need to get out of here. I can handle this." She snarled and a loud piercing sound came towards me. She ran and step in front of me. Something pierced her and she hacked blood. Her knees shook and she fell. I caught her and she looked at that direction. I tried to adjust my eyes to the darkness and there's someone in the shadows. She coughed and said, "Idiot, I told you to leave. Now I have to deal with this." She pushed me out of the way and got up. "I said I want you dead. I was told you tried to harm Jamie. With a situation like this, I won't show clemency." She grinned and continued, "Of course a parasite like you won't be missed." She turned around and looked at me. "Sleep." She said sternly. She poked my head and my eyes felt heavy.

I heard her voice. It was unclear, I couldn't understand what she was saying. I finally heard her clearly. "Hey, wake up." She said after slapping me. Blood was on her face and it covered her clothing. I looked around and we were in the same place. "What happened?" I asked. She looked around and said, "I killed him, there's nothing to worry about." She wiped her blood covered chin. I guess she ate something. She helped me up and asked, "You have everything you need?" I nodded and she let go of my arm. "I guess we can head back now. I did what I need to do. I'm glad it's still dark out so no one should be able to see us." She looked at the sky and chuckled.

I looked at the end of the alley and saw blood splattered on the walls and the ground. What did she do? "Hey, let's go. The sun is about to rise." She said while walking out of the place. I nodded and ran to catch up with her.

"What did you do back there?" I asked after we left the alley. She stopped and replied without turning around, "Simple, I killed him like anyone else could." She also put me to sleep. Is there something I don't know about her?

We walked in silence back to the store and that girl was there. Night smiled and said, "Hi Jamie, is there anything I could help you with." She looked at her with a hesitant look and finally shook her head. Night took out her keys and unlocked the store. They walked inside and Jamie said, "Did you eat something?" She was confused at her question first and remembered about the blood. She jumped and said, "I'm so sorry you had to see that. I'll be back in a minute." She left the room.

I decided to take the opportunity and asked Jamie, "What was it you whispered to Night?" She looked up at me and replied, "I was in the alley when someone pinned me to a wall. It was a guy. He had bloodlust and he wanted my blood. I was able to get away but it was scary. I told her what happened and what he looks like."

"I killed him. He won't bother you and I made sure he was dead." Night said while leaning against the doorway. She was in different clothing and her face was clean. Jamie nodded and gave her a hug. "Thank you, big sister." She said gratefully. Night smiled and ruffled the girl's blonde hair. "No problem. I'm privileged to help someone like you." Jamie smiled and Night asked, "Do you want breakfast? I can make waffles." The girl's eyes lit up and she nodded. She smiled and continued, "Great, I need to call your dad and tell him you're here with me. Okay?" Jamie nodded and she went to a different room.

Night sighed and looked at me. "You're awfully smooth to ask a young girl a secret." She clutched her hair and sighed. "It doesn't matter anymore, I don't have the time for castigation."

I nodded with agreement and she scoffed.

Jamie came into the room and pulled on Night's shirt. "Big sister, He's back." The girl said with wide eyes.
