A/N

An intimate section takes place in this chapter. Younger readers will be warned away, and the point will be marked. Enjoy the rest... I'm afraid I've gone back to my love of drama in the second half. I was just going to write a nice love story with a tincy-wincy bit of drama... I just can't do it!

Even the seasons change

Our love still stays the same

You give me that hummingbird heartbeat

Spread my wings and make me fly

The taste of your honey is so sweet

When you give me that hummingbird heartbeat

Hummingbird heartbeat

Oh, oh, hummingbird heartbeat

Oh, oh, hummingbird heartbeat

I've flown a million miles just to find a magic seed

A white flower with the power to bring life to me

You're so exotic, my whole body fluttering

Constantly craving for a taste of your sticky sweet

Always on the brink of a heart attack

You gave me life and keep me coming back

I see the sun rise in your eyes, your eyes

We've got a future full of blue skies, blue skies

Even the seasons change

Our love still stays the same

You give me that hummingbird heartbeat

Spread my wings and make me fly

The taste of your honey is so sweet

When you give me that hummingbird heartbeat

Hummingbird heartbeat

The next time I woke was, thankfully, not until a little before nine in the morning. Considering what a disrupted night I'd had, I wasn't at all surprised that I'd slept for so long. As I opened my eyes and blinked the sleep out of them, I saw a gorgeous, ruffled Edward leaning up on his elbow, looking down on me.

"Morning, Edward," I said with a yawn.

"Morning, beautiful," he said, smiling softly. "How're you feeling?"

"Good. Fine. Great. Elated."

Edward raised an eyebrow at me.

"In Bella language, or are you really 'fine'?"

"I'm really fine, Edward. Or at least, I will be."

"What does that mean? What do you need?" Edward asked, his voice rising slightly with worry. I couldn't contain my snicker at his behaviour. The man was such a worrier. I loved that he was so concerned about my welfare, but I was certain that most men wouldn't worry in that manner.

In answer to his questions, I tipped my head up and placed my lips over his, remembering exactly what had happened in the earlier hours of the morning. The first kiss I'd shared with Edward Cullen for six years... And the best kiss I'd had since I'd last kissed him. Before our kiss could progress, Edward pulled away from me suddenly.

"Stop," he gasped, breathless and flushed, his lips very slightly swollen, despite the gentleness of our kiss.

What was he doing? Was last night not true? Had he kissed me only because I'd asked him to, and not because he'd wanted to? Had everything he'd said about wanting to kiss me been a lie? The questions flew through my mind quickly, and I felt my heartbeat pick up in fear. Was he about to reject me?
