Black Meets Gray

I sit in this same chair every Sunday waiting for the preacher to say something new. "Bless the people that chose to come here today and praise the lord, instead of suffering from eternal damnation" blah blah blah, I'm calling  bullshit!!

"Sit up straight!" My mother tells me. "I'm going to grab a smoke" I quickly walk towards to the back door before she can say something.

Ugh I hate church

I grab my cig out my purse and rummage for my lite. Shit I forgot it. "That's bad for you ya' no" this guy says handing me his. "Did I ask?" I smirked. "No but a hot piece like you-" I cut him off by pushing my body directly in front of his. "A hot piece like me?"

"Divine! What the fuck you doing" boom, like always Mia's there to ruin the moment, or how she sees it "saving me from myself"

"So that's your name, nice it's sexy" at this point Mia had  maneuvered herself in front of me. Her face was so red I was  almost concerned, almost. I was more worried about the incredibly hot guy she was blocking me from. "And what's your name stranger" I bit my lip, and my blood presser rose.

"Malik, but-" he was cut off again not by me but by Mia this time. "But nothing we're leaving" she yanked my arm and I stumbled back to the church.

"See you later Divine" Malik winked and  turned to walk away. I swear I saw a twinkle in his eyes.

Thanks Mia I didn't even get a number

I shrugged pouting and walking slow. "Oh hush, if I hadn't shown up who knows what could have happen, he could have been crazy, or worse" she paused and her eyes got wide "a satanist!!"

Over reacting was Mia's thing. "You say that about everyone" if you didn't show up to church you were one of two things deadly sick or a satanist. Perks of living in small town. Cloverville wasn't really keen to change.

"Well what else would he be doing on a Sunday if he's not in church"

"I don't know maybe he has a job!!?"

"On Gods day!! No no no that just ain't right"and with that she strutted back into church, with me trudging behind her.

I don't even know if I believe in God. Of course I would never say that. They'd have me locked up, I would be in the news paper. I can already see the head lines "local girl goes crazy" or  "innocent has been possessed"

I know one thing though, Malik was so attractive and  I was going to see him again. Mia wouldn't be there to get in the way this time.

"I know what your thinking" Mia said as I sat down. "And your not seeing him again. I'll hand cuff you to the bed if I have to"

Ugh

Worst part of having a best friend, they always know what your thinking. "No I was not" my Carmel skin flushed, she new I was lying. "SHHH" My mom scoft at us. "Was to"

Damn she got the last word
