I rang the doorbell and patiently waited for someone to open the door. Soon enough Arjun's younger sister appeared as soon as the door opened.
I gave her a nervous smile before asking "Uh. Where is Arjun? Is he at home?"
"He hasn't come out of his room since morning and has been sulking that his girlfriend is going to leave" she said with an amused expression written on her face.
I chuckled softly. "Is it?" I asked.
"Yeah totally. He's behaving so immature" she groaned.
"Oh come on in" she finally invited me inside. I gave her a slight hug before settling down on the sofa.
"Mom see who has come" she called out to her mother while beaming a bright smile at me.
Her mom soon came into view from behind the kitchen door, with a bowl in her hand. She placed the bowl on the dining table and walked towards us with a wide smile.
I had always been very familiar with all the members of Arjun's family, even his dad, and so were they.
"Naina, how are you?" his mom asked.
"I'm fine aunty. How about you?" I replied.
"I'm good as well. Oh congrats on getting through the admissions" she said smiling.
"Thank you"
"So? Boston huh? When do you leave?" she asked.
I chuckled realizing that Arjun had already told his family everything about me going to Boston.
"In a week maybe" I told her and she nodded.
"And when do you come back?"
"Uh. In three years"
"Wow, that's a long time. Now I know why Arjun has been sad since he came back home yesterday" she chuckled.
I sighed.
"But I am happy Arjun chose you. Come back to Mumbai soon so that we can plan out yours and Arjun's wedding" she winked.
And I swear my cheeks was going to burst out with heat. I looked down in embarrassment while Diya, Arjun's sister giggled rubbing her palm over my back.
"My soon going to be bhabi is shy huh?" Diya teased.
"Oh my God. Stop teasing me the both of you" I chuckled.
We three had a good laugh before our laughs finally died down.
"Um... I think I should go check up on Arjun once" I said and aunty nodded. I sighed getting up, and walked towards his room.
The door was locked from inside as usual, so I knocked it, letting him know that I was behind it.
"Arjun it me, Naina. Open the door" I called out.
No response. I rolled my eyes. This guy is such an idiotic ass.
"Arjun I know you heard me. Open the door. Stop behaving like a kid" I scolded.
"Go. Go to Boston" he mocked.
I sighed and sat down on the floor leaning against the closed door to Arjun's room.
"Arjun. Please? Don't do this. Stop acting like that. You know I can never go seeing you like this" I told him.
"Don't go then" he said, his voice came out as a soft cry. And that broke my heart.
"Arjun. I won't go if you don't want me to, I promise. Just don't be that way. It breaks my heart" and I swear my voice cracked as I was on the verge of tears.
