My name is Dexter White, age sixteen and I attend Roosevelt High School as a Junior. I am one of seven OPENLY gay students out of the whole student body. As you can tell, from the very small number, it is not a very accepting town that I live in. Basically, if you're a boy that kisses boys or a girl that kisses girls, you're screwed. On the bright side, you accumulate quite the selection of pamphlets for therapy and churches. So you have a map of all the places to avoid going.
But I don't care about this homophobic town. And I sure as hell can't wait to move out of it. Maybe I'll have a boyfriend by then, too. But, for now, I'm single and free... And what a good time to be! New year, new students and new teachers. Fresh meat all around. Yes, i'm talking about what you think.
First day of school.
Ah, another year at 'God Central.' Or at least it felt like that sometimes. Before the bell rang, I met up with three of my friends. Those of which happened to be three out of the seven out people in this school. A boy, Conner Hudson, sophomore. And two girls. Aubrey James, a junior, and Samantha Matthews, a senior.
Conner was okay looking. If you were judging by looks, you would never know he is gay. He, sadly, dresses like every other straight boy these days... Without the sagging jeans and naked women on his shirts. Thank the gay fashion gods for gifting him a normal sense of clothing. He had hair styled with the front pointing upwards, dark brown hair with green eyes, a combination that suited him well with his tannish skin, basketball players build. He was taller than me, too. 5'8".
Then, there was Samantha. A girly girl. The type who you would think kept a journal of all the cutest boys in school. But, now that I think about it, her and Aubrey recently started dating... She had long, dyed maroon colored hair that reached just past her breasts and deep blue eyes. A natural blonde. She was paler, reaching about the height of 5'3".
Aubrey. Oh, Aubrey. She was the most stereotypical of as all. At least appearance wise. Her wardrobe consisted of large amounts of plaid flannels, combat boots and mens clothing. She also had a page boy haircut, light brown, and a slightly more boyish face with nice blue eyes that matched Samantha's a bit... Kind of cute to be honest. If she were a guy, i'd test out the waters with her. She was taller, around 5'7".
Then, you had me. Dexter White. I dressed a bit different than Conner. You would at least assume I took it up the ass rather than put it other places. Different than them, I had dyed black hair in a pixie style. But more for a boy... Honestly people... I have green eyes and a normal skin tone. Not sickly pale and not jersey shore orange. I'm on the shorter side of 5'5" and a swimmers build... At least summer treated some of us well.
"Summer is over and hell has begun..." Aubrey stated as she slung her arm around Samantha's shoulders.
Samantha cuddled in closer to her hold and smiled, "Yeah, but at least we still get to see each other, right?" She gave her big blue puppy eyes.
I stepped in and laughed, "Come on girls, PDA is a huge no." I teased them... In which made Aubrey threaten to hang me on the flag pole by my boxers. I backed off as they kissed, walking to Conner. "So, how was your summer?" I tried to make conversation.
"Decent." He stated bluntly. Oh, that wasn't like him at all.
"Spill. I expect details, too." I crossed my arms as he started talking.
Conner began stumbling over his words, he was talking so damn fast. When he got the hint that I barely understood a word, he started over, calmer. "I went to Texas this summer with my parents and wow, I just met THE CUTEST guy EVER. He had the accent and everything... And you know I'm a sucker for accents. So, we exchanged contact info and shit, yeah whatever... I think we went on a date, too... But oh my gosh. He's a senior and we are talking and he tells me goodnight and good morning every day." His eyes lit up.
I noticed and laughed a bit, "Well, what is this lucky guys name?" I looked up at him.
"Oh, his name is Derek." He sighed dreamily.
"Alright loverboy, i'll leave you to your tied down day dreaming." I smirked as started off towards my class when the bell rang.
Chemistry. God, did I hate science. I only liked when we made our own ice cream in eighth grade, as well as using static electricity to shock the shit out of everyone... Oh those were the days... Well, let's see the rest of my days plans.
Chemistry - Period 1
French 1 - Period 2
English 3 - Period 3
Creative Writing - Period 4
Early Lunch
Algebra-2 - Period 5
A.P. U.S. History - Period 6
2-D Art - Period 7Well, some of it looked promising... And by that I mean fourth and seventh period. Two classes I wouldn't die in... I had taken my place and zoned out when the teacher called my name last. "Oh... Yeah, I'm here." I called rather lazily to her after she said my name for the fourth time. Damn lucky she didn't mark me absent.
A day filled with papers and getting to know you sheets. Just what I loved filling out. My hand writing is at least some what decent. Well, at least readable... I think. Hopefully the day will go by much faster.
Boy, did it go faster. Before I knew it, I was standing before my Algebra class door. Oh how I dread any form of math. I dragged myself inside and sat down, running my hands down my face. A guy soon walked in, looking only slightly rushed. Must by the teacher, I mean look. White dress shirt and slacks. Typical first da--
He turned around and I felt myself staring for a bit. He was nice looking... Very handsome. His jaw was strong looking, defined and he had slightly messy, dirty blonde hair and glasses. As for what I could see of his eyes, they were a soft blue, nothing overwhelmingly bright or dark. So, basically perfect... Well, this was a pleasant surprise... He couldn't have been more than his mid twenties. If he was, then wow, what lotion or face wash does he use?
Sadly, my day dreams were interrupted by the filing in of new classmates. And none of which I enjoyed the presence of.
But with this teacher.
"Hello, I'm Mister Peterson..."
Maybe I can learn to enjoy math a little more than year...
