We sat down for dinner around the table. I often wondered what families even did this anymore... We made small talk about our days, school, work, and everything that wouldn't start a miniature debate between anyone. We were a close family and we worked out our problems the best we could, minus me. Though I'm not the problem, just my sexuality. We've just pushed it aside every time something about that comes up.
We finished off our food and I did the dishes, scrubbing, rinsing, and putting in the strainer before putting any extra food away. I smiled a bit and kissed their cheeks, heading up to my room to lay down. Of course I wasn't going to bed, I just wanted the comfort of my warm bed. It was nice...
I slid under the sheets and sighed with relief as I easily got warmer, relaxing and grabbing my phone. Still no messages. Usually I would be hanging out with one of my friends, but I guess they were all pissed at me... Stupid. I texted Conner and asked if he wanted to come over tomorrow, of course I didn't get a text back very quickly... Or at all for a long period of time. Then I tried Samantha.
'Sorry, I have plans with Aubrey. Maybe next weekend :?' Of course I knew that wasn't going to happen, so I gave up. I set my phone aside and crossed my arms, sighing quietly and just trying to think of how I would fill the day tomorrow. I thought for a bit and then decided on something. I got out of bed and headed into the computer room, my dad was in there. Shit.
"Hey dad, can I use that one?" I pointed to the computer opposite of him.
"That's your mothers so ask her." He gave me a smile and ruffled my hair, me smiling back and going to ask my mom.
As always, she said yes, so I went back in and got up my email, trying not to let my dad know what I have been doing. I shot an email to Sebastian and smiled a bit, opening another tab and pretending to search something as I waited for a response. I got excited when it said (1) in the inbox tab. I grinned and opened it.
An invitation to hang out tomorrow? Dexter White, are you asking your teacher out on a date? Not that I am declining, nor am I accepting it at this moment. But honestly, what would you and I even do together? We have an age gap and probably completely different interests. Could you even think of a single thing the two of us could do that will not bore the other to death? Give me options and I will consider it.
-Sebastian.
Well... He said it wasn't a no! I smiled and went into the other tab, trying to think up all the activities we could do together. Lunch, movies, dinner, uh... Movies? Crap, what did he even like to do? CRAP, what do you do on DATES? I instantly went to Google, appreciating the current logo, and searched up 'Date ideas.' So many results. I panicked and hit one. '50 Date Night Ideas - Creative Date Ideas - Redbook.' I hope this is real. God, they all sucked so bad! I stopped on a picture of Olivia Newton John and John Travolta. Drive-in? Well... We might have to settle for a normal movie date. I huffed quietly, thinking about how lame it was that I couldn't think of anything... I emailed back.
Well, I think we can agree that the movies sounds like a pretty normal, casual first date. Nothing serious or outrageously expensive. We just have to see the movies that are out for tomorrow and agree on something. I will go look that up if you agree to this date.
-Dexttteeer.
I smiled a bit and went to Fandango.com. Great site. OBVIOUSLY my eyes lit up at the sight of The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug. I groaned a bit, "DAAAAD. THE NEW HOBBIT IS OUTTTTT!" I looked back at him, eyes like puppy eyes and he just shrugged an 'oh well' at me. I pouted and returned back to the computer. I was so going to suggest this one. Inbox (1).
