"what?!" our whole class shouted. "oh c'mon guys, a singing competition isn't that bad." ms. park said. "next week, i'll start partnering you guys up. so for now, just think of a song that you guys would want to sing." she said.

wait, partner..? "wait, teacher! did you say partner?" i asked and she nodded. "oh shi-" i muttered under my breath. so that's what she was planning?

"all of you will be partnered up and the date of the contest is next month." she added. the bell rang and she sighed. "class dismissed." she said. i stood up from my chair, grabbing my backpack on the way.

again, the same pair of eyes that met mine yesterday, was staring at me. "can you stop staring?" i shouted at him. he grabbed his backpack and had another smirk on his face.

"i will if i could." he said as he walked out of the room. what the heck does that mean?! "aish- jinjja! i'm going to punch him in the face the next time i see him.." i mumbled. "youngjin?" ms. park called. "hm?" i asked.

she signalled me to come to her and i did. "later, after school, okay?" she asked and i nodded. she smiled at me and nodded too.

"i'll see you later then." she said. i walked out of the room and went to my next class. some time had passed, my last class of the day finally ended.

i left the classroom and made my way down to the music room. as i walk on the hallway of the basement floor (where the music room is), i heard a honey-like voice coming from the music room.

i reached the door and peeked through the door window. it was a guy singing while playing the piano. his back was turned around so i couldn't really tell who it was. i continued to watch him play.

he suddenly stopped singing when his cellphone rang. "oh, hyung?" he answered. "i can't go today. i have to stay, sorry." he said. "tomorrow at lunch? okay, call!" he said. "arasseo, bye." he said and hung up.

lunch? his voice sounds really familiar.. wait- "oh, youngjin! you're here! great! come in!" ms. park, who came out of nowhere (she actually came from the faculty room), said.

she opened the door and we both entered. the boy who was singing just a while ago, turned around and met eyes with me. "what the hel- you?!" i shouted. "teacher, what's she doing here?" he asked annoyingly.

"ahh, so you see.. remember about the student i told you at the hall today? yeah, well it's her." ms. park explained. i groaned frustratingly and sighed.

"can you make me do something else instead? i'll do anything! just don't let me work with this guy!" i complained. the guy laughed then smirked after. "do you hate me that much?" he asked, his face looking a bit angry.

"i'm sorry youngjin but this the only duty i can give for you." ms. park said. she sighed and walked up to the guy. she pulled his hand and brought him in front of me.

i looked at ms. park. she grabbed my hand and his and she placed my hand on top of his. "don't fight." she said in a more serious tone. i pulled my hand away from him and looked at something else.

"choi youngjin, meet choi youngjae." ms. park said.
