3:58 p.m

"jin-ah!" my mom called. i took my shoes off and went to the kitchen. "how's school?" she asked. i walked up to her and gave her a kiss in the cheek. "school was fine." i said and made a soft smile.

"oh, youngjin!" my mom's boyfriend called. i turned around and smiled at him. "annyeonghaseyo!" i said and bowed. "aish, don't be so formal to me anymore! bowing is not needed." he said with a smile.

choi yungjoon, my mom's boyfriend. they've been together for probably a year? "ahh, sorry." i said. "no need to be sorry. anyways, i believe i haven't told you about my son, right?" he said.

wait, son? he has a son? "s-son?" i asked. "yes! he's coming over later. he is actually the same age as you! wait, what school do you go to?" he asked.

"seoul academy." i said. "so he does go to the same school as you!" he said. "ahhh, jinjja..?" i said. "you might've seen him around school, he's a very handsome young man.. just like me!" he said and we both laughed.

"so anyways, you'll meet him later. i think you two will get along, you both love music." he said and smiled. i gave him a nod.

"yungjoon-ah, you're being too talkative again! let my daughter go change." mom said and i laughed. "i'll go ahead." i said.

i left the kitchen and went to my room. that's weird, he never told me about his son. maybe mom knew.. eh, whatever. if they ever get married, i guess i'll get a brother. haha.

i changed into some comfortable clothes and placed my uniform in the laundry bin. i sat on my bed and grabbed my phone.

let's see, 12 text messages from hyejin.

i dialled her phone number and pressed "call". after a few rings, she finally picked up. "youngjin! did you see my texts?" she asked. "yeah, you got a job..?" i said. "yes! it's only a part-time though." she said. "that's nice. when do you start?" i asked.

"tomorrow. it's only a cashier job so i can do shifts." she said. "mhmm." i said. "so... what's up with you?" she asked.

"hm, i don't know. yungjoon is here and he said he has a son. he said he's coming over later." i said. "wait- hold up! he has a son?!" she shouted. "yeah! i know!" i said. "that's weird, does your mom know?" she asked.

i thought for a second. "yeah, i think. she didn't react or anything." i said. "so if they get married, that means..." she stopped. "yes, i guess i'll have a brother." i said. "haha.. goodluck with that." she said.

"did he say how old his son is?" she asked. "he said he's the same age as me and that he goes to the same school.." i said. "wait.. didn't you say before that yungjoon's last name is choi?" hyejin asked.

choi.. yeah that's right. "yeah, why?" i asked. "same age as us, same school.. there are only three choi's in our school." she said and i went silent for a second. "choi seungyeon, choi hinata and.. and choi youngjae." she said.

"is he japanese?" she asked. "no." i answered. "then hinata is out of the list." she said. "that leaves us with choi seungyeon and choi youngjae." she said. "whatever you're thinking hyejin, it's not going to be youngjae." i said. "yeah, i'm trying to think that, okay?! i don't want world war three to happen yet!" she shouted.

i made a small chuckle and she kept silent. "i'm serious!" she shouted. outside, i heard a door closed. "hyejin-ah, i think he's here. i gotta go." i said. "okay, but i'm really curious on who he is. tell me about it later, okay?" she said. "yeah, okay. bye." i said and ended the call.

i stood up from my bed and looked at myself in the mirror. first impression is important. at least that's what hyejin says. i fixed my side bangs and let my wavy hair fall behind my back and in my shoulders. "okay.." i mumbled.

i went out of my room and closed the door in the process. i went to the kitchen and saw the boy's back turned in front of me.
