The next day, I was skeptical if Asgore could protect the family should another one of the NMO come, so I challenged him to a duel.
"Full on, come at me like I killed all of your subjects ." I beckoned him. "Or else I can't leave him under your protection." I drew my sword, and when he did not, disappointment quickly spread across my face. "Come on, Asgore, king of monsters, or do you want to become Asgore, king of nothing?" That triggered it. He brought out his weapon, which was a red trident. I faked a charge right and jumped to the left, then, launched a vorpal strike aimed for his right side. He parried it while stepping left, hidden by all the attention to my sword, I shot a fireball with my free hand. It was a direct hit to his stomach. Using the fireball's energy as a propellant, I spun and landed on my feet in front of him. "Yes, that's what I'm looking for!" His eyes started flashing orange and blue. His trident grew and started alternating between the two colors. With how fast they were moving, there was no way I could negate them by moving, or stopping. So I jumped out of the way of it entirely, but it nicked my foot, however, it was orange.
He started to duplicate and throw his trident, In response, I concentrated my fire to my free arm, and it collected together to form a shield. Using my sword and my new shield, I deflected all the spears directly at Agore. He simply made them disappear, but he wasn't expecting me to disappear with them, because I had also inherited my Mother's ability as well, teleportation. I knocked him on the head with the flat side of my blade. I teleported in front of him and pointed the tip of my blade to him, "Ok, I think that should be good enough. Although I am quite disappointed, you were holding back way too much. I can see it in your soul... But if you were that powerful while holding back, I have no problem leaving him in your protection."
"Then let us be off tomorrow, It is quite a long path there, that gives you time to pack and say your farewells."
The next day took too long to arrive, things were packed and farewells were said, but I still had a lot of time to spare. So I walked to where we fell down. The ground was still barren, but the dirt had been flattened, almost as if another person had fallen down. A blue spear embedded itself against the wall, barely missing my neck. It was thrown from behind, so I didn't move, while teleporting behind the thrower. It was a huge suit of armor, how I didn't notice it come by the ruins, I don't know. Every time it took a step it make a clinking sound. The same blue spears started to appear above the warrior, with one fluid motion, I drew my sword and formed my fiery shield. The blue spears all gravitated their points towards me, and in a flash of magic, flew at top speed towards me, all of the spears were launched with the intent to kill. I could sense pure malice coming from the suit of armor. Right away I knew it wasn't a human, because we were the only magicians left, everyone else was dead. So it must have been a monster looking for my soul. The first spear was aimed for the right leg. The second one was aimed for my heart. The third one was shot for my left arm, and the fourth aimed straight for my head. I deflected the one for my head, and my heart. The one aimed for my left arm simply came into contact with my shield, and I jumped to dodge the last one. Which, admittedly, wasn't smart. Because the warrior already had five more ready to fire. I teleported behind it, swept it's legs with my right leg, put one knee on the chest of it, and pointed my sword at it's throat. Blue spots on the ground quickly revealed that the battle wasn't over, as the spears raised from the ground. I barely had enough time to get away before I was impaled.
"Human, you're good, this is going to be fun."
The voice was obviously feminine, which surprised me, because the suit of armor she was wearing looked extremely buff and masculine. "Training you, that is."
