5. Grow up (part 1)

It was a brand new monday morning, I finished my breakfast, brushed my teeth and left the loft, Luke was Already in his lectures and Eve was still sleeping, I got in my car and made the short drive to Evans&Co. I walked to my office and sit down, I checked my email and started working on the weekly report of the project progress. Just when I was about to sent it, I heard and knock on my door.

- Come in - I said loudly

- Jack needs you downstairs - Adam said crossing his arms and leaning on the door frame. He was wearing a blue shirt and gray pants, Amy was right he was good looking, but his cocky personality overshadowed his beautiful face.  

- Ok, I'll just send this.. - I started saying when abruptly he interrupted me 

- Whatever - he said and turned around to leave my office. I'm not the kind of woman who would deal with him, but for my project's sake I had to carry on and stand him. I sent the report, turned off my computer and went 2 floors down to the lab. I found Jack looking at his computer screen with a big frown and rubbing his chin with his hand.

- What's wrong? - I asked, he was the most readable person I knew, just by seeing his eyes I knew what he might be thinking, It was obvios he was worried about something.

- Evans said we must show him and the lead executives how far the scale model has advanced on friday, this friday. I don't know what the hell he was thinking when he - I put my hand over his mouth to silence him, he was starting to freak out, and we he freaked out I freaked out, so that meant trouble.

- Calm down, breath, open your chakras - I said calmly and looking at his eyes - I'll move my hand now, Ok? - I did as I said, and then he started again hyperventilating, so I did it again - Jack, come on! It's ok, we cna do this I mean we don't have to show him a finished product, we just to show him what we've done so far. - I said with my hand still covering his mouth, he started breathing slowly so I took my hand off of his face, and directed my attention to the other 3 people in the room.

- Ok, guys, you've done an amazing job so far and I really trust you all, as you heard we have to show our progress this friday to the executives, so please keep working hard so we can show them what we are capable of doing. - I said with a big smile trying to convince them that we could get this job done by friday. They all nodded, and started back to working, all except Adam, he just glared at me with his arms crossed, he looked down to my shoes and back up to my eyes, he sighed and gived in.

I picked up my phone and read Cassie's text messaged, on tuesday Jack and Paul finished and printed the blueprint that clearly showed the layout of the inside and outside of the plant we were building, on wednesday we put the small walls together and started working on the small machinery pieces that were going to be placed inside the model, It was now thursday afternoon, we we're almost finished with the whole model, Amy painted every small furniture piece, Jack and Paul ensambled the machinery, Adam was building more props and finishing with the external details, and I was assembling the light set that should light the small place. 

It was almost 7 p.m, Jack and Paul already left, and Amy was gluing the small trees and setting small people all over the model, Adam was fixing some broken tables and chairs, and I was still struggling to get this shitty light set working properly.

- Ray - Amy said - Is it ok if I leave now?, it's getting late and I have to walk home - she said with a concerned look, I had spend over two hours fixing this and still didn't get it right.

- It's ok, just go home and be pretty tomorrow - I said with a small smile and reaching for my purse, She lived near here, but you never knew what could happen walking around this city - Here, take a cab I want you safe. - I said handing her 20 dollars.
