(5 Days Later)

>Nate's POV<

I don't know how many miles I've driven, but from what Natalie has told me, I'll be nearing the Colorado Rockies and I could tell by how much snow is on the road. "Nate!" Natalie yells through the device. "What?" I say back, dodging traffic. "It's going to get pretty rough on Independence Pass. It's their annual snow clearing to prevent large avalanches and that the route you have to take to make it up front." I nod and pass another racer. "Oh and Na-." Natalie says before he signal goes off and I spin out. I notice Josh's henchman smirk as he passes by. I luckily had a patch of soft snow stop me from the spin out. Angry I push the gas pedal down and make my way back to my previous position from 24th place.

(One Hour Later)

I gained a few spots while driving and we are nearing Independence Pass. I see the exit and swift exit on to Independence Pass. I guess some other cars have came through the same route considering someone broke the gate open. I come up to the first hairpin turn and drift easily on it, and get a quick view of what I'll be driving on. Then a loud alarm sounded and then I see a large ball of fire soar across the sky. A huge explosion erupts in my ear and I hear the loud falling of snow. I kick it into higher gear and I feel the adrenaline rush though my veins.

Soon enough a large rock falls out in front of me and I immediately swerved left from it. I then entered a tunnel and out of the slits they made in the mountain, there was a huge amount of snow falling. I exited the tunnel and dodged some huge rocks that fell on the road from the explosion. Then another loud siren filled my ears and I heard two explosions erupt. My body felt the vibration and it was a bit frightening I saw more snow and pressed the gas pedal down as far as it could go, the engine roaring like a monster. I shifted gears and focused on driving out of this avalanche of I don't know... snow I guess. Dodging falling rocks, boulders, and piles of snow, and it seems to be endless. Finally I reach another tunnel and there isn't any sight of what's going on outside.

Then I hear another explosion and the sound erupts through the tunnel, and the lights go out. I quickly turn on my headlights and race through the tunnel. Soon I see the light and gun it out. I look in my rear view mirror to see the avalanche has finally stopped. I took a breath and I was happy it was over. But next thing I know another siren blares and another explosion erupts. I groan and drive to the best of my ability. There is ice in front of me on the road and a rock plunging towards me. I pit the e-brake and start to drift. I steer my steering wheel and start spinning, and I dodge the rock and keep driving on. More snow keeps falling and then I make the turn to onto a strait away that leads to the last tunnel. It's a huge trench and me.

Another siren blares and another explosion erupts. "REALLY?!?!" I yell, being tired of all of this. Soon boulders like half the size of the Statue of Liberty's head come falling down. I swerve left, then right, and continue doing that to avoid all the rocks. There is a clearing and in front of me is a large avalanche of snow, knocking trees, rocks, and any other thing in its path, and I might be its next victim. I turn to my N2O tanks and twist the valve opening open. I press the red button on my steering wheel and my cars bolts forward, going faster than ever, gluing me to my seat. The avalanche is coming closer and my heart is pumping hard, and adrenaline is rushing through my veins. The first bits of snow fall in front of the tunnel but that does not stop me. I blast through into the tunnels, before the rest of the avalanche falls in front of the tunnel I just entered. The loud echo of my engine fills my ears and I take a deep breath. I'm alive. That's good to know. I exit the tunnel and then Natalie's face appears on the side of the GPS map.  "You alright there Nate?" Natalie says, and I nod in reply. She nods and says, "Good. You are now in 10th place from what my screen tells me. They give me a live feed where the racers are. I'll keep you updated." I grinned. Gained 12 places. I look back on the road an continue to the finish line. I'm going to win for Niall. No... Niall and I. I will win for the both of us.
