Teenage Dirtbag - Covered by One Direction
~~~~~~
I pranced my way down the stairs, screaming the lyrics to Teenage Dirtbag to my mom.
"Ohhh yeaaah, dirt bag!" I screamed, followed with a hit to the shoulder from my mom. I giggled in response, grabbing my bags and squezed her shoulder. "Oh you know you just love my voice, mi madre." I yelled behind my shoulder as I ran out the doors. My relationship with my mom was strong, but not stable. Some days we can be best friends and go shopping, despite my clothing interest. The tattered vans collection I have explain otherwise. The other days, we will ignore each other. I've probably gone about a week of ignoring her, going to Maddie's house, my best friend, and sleep out there for days on end. She had about all of my clothes there anyways, so I was welcomed with wide arms. Her mother loved me, as she pratically raised me when I was younger.
When I ran outside, my foot met a puddle. "Well sh*t." I whispered under my breath. Despite the fact that my shoe was completely soaked, I walked on. I adjusted my beanie and zipped up my jacket. As I reached over to usual spot for my skateboard, I noticed it was empty. "Alright, where the hell are you?" I asked the inanimate object. I had problems with that. Right as I was turning the corner, Maddie popped up, riding the skateboard.
"Ayyeee!" She carried with her high voice. I threw my hands in the air, giggling. She joined in, but not until she fell with a miraculous catch of her feet. "I hate that stupid thing. Why do you skateboard Destiny?" Maddie huffed, whipping off her jeans. I slid the skateboard over so it was held under my foot. "We've been through this. I like skateboards, you like boybands. Now we're equal." I explained. "Can we go now? It's going to rain again my hair doesn't agree with that."
"You're such a girly-girl underneath all of that skater girl." She pinched my cheeks. I smacked her hands as she flinched. I pointed my index finger up to her nose, poking it, oh so gently. "Listen here, sweet cheeks. Don't insult me. You know I hate when my hair get's as big as Whitney Houston's hair. That doesn't make me a girly girl, so shut it." I remarked. She laughed under her breath, biting my finger. She had no response, which was a usual. She was the only one who never took me seriously, which was why we were best friends.
I swiped my foot to the side, making my wheels spin to the pace of Maddie's walk speed. I gripped onto her shoulders, making me behind her. "Run speedracer, run!" Her pace hurried now, making my wheels make a whizzing sound. An occasional yelp of excitement would leave our lips as we raced past the crowd of New York. Not until my wheel caught onto indent of the sidewalk. With our speed, I flew past Maddie and onto the hard sidewalk.
"Welp, that ended with a boom." I huffed, feeling a sudden ache in my back. I closed my eyes and laid there for about a half a minute, taking in my surrounding with my ears. Luckily it wasn't so busy today, especially it being New York.
"Are you okay?!" Maddie yelled. Her voice sounded like it was a mile back. I pushed myself up until my eyes caught onto a pair of white shoes. I stopped myself, looking up to a rather odd-looking stranger. Not as in looks, cause he was kind of good-looking. The blue eyes and dark brown hair is what caught me off guard. His eye held a light tint to them, making them stand out. His hand made it's way through his hair, making it swoop up a bit. He chuckled as I was staring.
"You and your friend were going pretty fast back there." He laughed, over exagerating the word pretty. He held out his hand, offering to help me up. I couldn't pass up the offer, as I did just fall right to his feet. I shifted my body weight so he wouldn't be dragging up most of my body. When I stood up, I didn't look him in the eyes. "Thanks." I ignored his remark. My attention went to my clothes, wiping off the newly-found dust. What's the point of dong this? My clothes were worn out anyways.
"Well are you alright?" With his sudden change in words, I looked up at him. After typing something into his phone, he pushed it into his jacket pocket. I nodded with a slight smile. His hand reached out to my cheek, his thumb grazing over my new scratch. "Ouch. Might want to get something on that." I pushed his hand away from my cheek.
"Don't touch it, it obviously is going to hurt." I rudely respond. He's caught off guard by my words. He held his hands up in protest.
"Hey hey, I didn't know it would hurt that bad. I was just checking on you. You did just eat shit, you just happened to fall for me. Or in front of me. Either way, I got to help out a cute girl like you." He winked at me. I rolled my eyes at his attempt in flirting. With no hesitation, he stepped back towards me.
"Thanks for the help out, but I don't exactly need to flirt it up with anyone right now. I just fell right on my ass and honestly, it hurts. I have no intention for this right now." I said as I moved my hand up and down, examing his body with questioning eyes.
"Alright love. Maybe I'll see you around here more?" He winked again. "Oh you dropped your phone. I don't know if it was cracked already, but it's looking gnarly." His hand reached into his pocket, handing me my phone. I snatched it and looked at it. Thank god, he was only kidding. There was only a few scratches, but that's why my mom bought me an Otterbox, knowing my habits.
"It's not-" I start, but look up to Maddie instead smiling devishly at me.
