Ashton

"I'll come back for you soon. Don't worry." I whisper. I look down at the most beautiful person I had ever seen. Yes just a baby now, but I've already seen what she really looks like in my dreams.

Hair that will be as black as the night's sky. Eyes so blue, you'd think you were flying in the sky or swimming in the ocean. Dimple's that showed no matter what. A few hardly visible freckles on her cheeks and nose. She would be perfect. If she lasted.

I look back at my love once last time, before I'm out of her window trying to make my way back to safety. I look over my shoulder making sure no one saw me. I had to make sure He didn't see me.

I gasp looking around my surrounding. It was only a dream. Just a dream. Or the past I should say. It was just my past coming back to haunt me. It was now coming to haunt Calum. He has been haunting us for years. Ever since I 'took' his daughter from him. He's came back after me, and took her back. Then went after Michael, taking the one he loved. He made Luke's mate sick, Luke was lucky he didn't have to watch her die the death she was going to have.

Now he's after his own son.

Calum's lucky I did as Annebella asked me, and took him with us when I came back to take her away from her father. Left him with another family til he was 17. Once the time came, we faked his death, and he stayed with us, finding out who he really was.

"Ashton?" I look over at Michael in the doorway. "Are you alright?" He asks stepping into the room.

"My past is just coming back to haunt me." I sigh. Michael gave me sad eyes looking the ground.

"What was it this time?" He asks that every time he comes into my room, after I've slept. I always seen something, weather it be the past of the future. Michael or Luke are always here to know what it was. Calum doesn't need to know any of this yet. He's still too young.

He might be older then Luke, but Luke found out when he was 14. He'd almost killed his family, when I found him on the street later the day. He begged me to help him. I couldn't say no. He grew up with Michael by his side, the two fighting to see who was better. They grew out of that after a year or so. When Calum showed up, everything was so different. Annebella wasn't with us then.

"Just the first time I ever saw her. The small little baby she was." I tell him. There wasn't much to say after that. That's all to the past there was. Sure there is more, but that is all for another time. The past is far to long to go threw, no matter if we have forever. Forever can come sooner then we think.

"We miss her too Ash." Michael sighs giving me a sad smile. "We'll get her back, her and Skyler." Michael knew that I hated talking about Annebella. It was hard for me. We never talk about our mates, because we've all lost them, and it's too heart breaking. Even if Annebella isn't dead, it's so hard for her not to be here and help with everything.

I give Michael the best smile I could before turning to conversation on him. "How are you holding up today?" I ask him. I'm always checking on Michael. He took losing his mate so hard, I could understand why, when he started killing everything, it was so hard to control him. I was scared that we were going to have to put Michael out of his misery. Luckily we didn't.

"Alright. Today has been one of the better days." He says giving me a large smile. I knew it wasn't fake, which made me happy, Michael should be happy. "I'm going to go and see Marie tonight, she hasn't shut up about this guy she met at her college." He chuckles. Marie was Michael's youngest daughter. She was a sweet little girl, and knew how to keep her vampire inside. She was really gitty when we told her she was going to college.
