Beauty Inside

Chapter 5

  I grab my jacket and walk towards the door. The monster and my brother always go out fishing on Saturdays and don't come home until one in the morning. I usually just go to the library and grab two books and then head to the dinner and read.

  I walk down the street with my shoulder bag. Once I make it to the library I immediately go to the romance section. I always see myself as the main character having a happy ending. But I'm to weak to fight back. I grab two books and check them out.

  I make it to the dinner and sit at a booth and began reading The Distances Between Us.

  "Hey, doesn't she go to are school?" I hear an unrecognizable voice say. I put my book mark in my book and look up. I see Axel, David, Isabella, and May. I have them all in at least one class. I'm very observant.

  "Ya it is." May says and waves at me. I wave back and there is a awkward silence.

  "Wassup! I'm David." He broke the silence and grab my hand as he introduces himself. I smile warmly.

  "Well since its polite to introduce yourself, I'm  Natalie." I hold my hand out and shake everyone's except Isabella, she gives me a look that makes me look like a peasant. I raise my eyebrows at her and turn to Axel and look at him. I don't know if he wants to show that we know each other or not. So I attempt to shake his hand and he accepts it and then pulls me in for a hug. Never mind.

 
  "What are you doing here Nat?" He let's go and I feel there stares, burning holes in the back of my head.

  "Well...nothing much, just reading." He nods and seats at the table I am. I look at him confused and he just pats the seat I was siting down at. I walk over slowly and sit.

  "Come on guys! Sit." He instructed. May and David sit smoothly and grab menus that were passed out by a waiter still on the move, going from table to table. Isabella looks surprised with wide eyes.

  "I see you guys know each other. How?" Isabella crossed her arms over her chest and looked at Axel in a demanding way. I look between them and then at David who looks annoyed.

  "We known each other since we were really young." Axel informed and grabbed a menu. Isabella cuts her eyes at me and taps David to move so she can sit by Axel. I straighten up my face that once had a kind and warming smile  into a straight line. I sigh. I always have to do something wrong.

   "Why the sudden mood change?" David asks and I perk up and shake my head.

  "Nothing." I laugh and he nods.

  "If you say so." He states.

  I excuse myself to go to the bathroom. I look at myself in the bathroom mirror and sigh.

  "Why do you have to be so weak?" I ask myself and close my eyes.

  "Listen here troll! If you ever try to take my Axel away from me I will make your life a living hell. Worst then it has ever been!" She shouts and I flinch. She can't make my life worse than it already is.

  "Okay got it." I assure her and try to exit. She pushes me to the door.

  "You better." She lets me go and she laughs. Great another monster.
