春野サクラ

At one in the morning, with her pink hair in a bun and her reading glasses clashing horribly with her sleeping outfit, Sakura was terrified. The hand holding the files trembled to the point where she could barely read the words on her paper.

But she didn't care. She read enough--enough to terrify her.

The file she was reading was labeled, Uchiha Clan, and although she was frightened, she was barely halfway through the files. Ten more files laid on the floor, waiting to be read.

I never knew Konoha could be so...

So messed up?

Sakura then dropped the paper and scanned the next one. Tears filled her eyes--how would this happen?

On the paper, it read:

The Uchiha Massacre shall occur on the fifth of December (random date).

I, Itachi Uchiha, will carry out this mission, as it is my duty to protect Konohagakure.

Mission:
Itachi Uchiha is to terminate the Uchiha Clan, to prevent the clan's Coup d'état. He shall leave Konohagakure and join the Akatsuki.

The Hokage agreed to this? She thought. But her emerald eyes caught the slight quiver to the Third Hokage's handwriting, as if he hesitated to sign his name. She suspected he tried to voice a much more peaceful decision, but had to side with the massacre.

I never felt so bad for Itachi, she thought as she sadly stared at his signed name. I thought he was the enemy. Sasuke was convinced he did it to prove his power, but in reality...

Itachi did it to save his brother, Sakura concluded. If the coup de tat were to be carried out, then the whole Uchiha clan would have been killed. That would include Sasuke...I guess that's why Itachi chose to kill the clan himself before the coup de tat happened.

She then put the papers back inside the file before reaching for the next file. As the hours went by, the sun rising above the horizon, she spent her time reading every single file.

When she was twelve years old, she read every single textbook that ever existed. She was even tempted to break into the Archive Library and steal a few books.

But compared to now and when she was twelve, she had never been this eager. Her hands grasped the files and read them like her life depended on it.

When she was finished, she finally reached her decision.

Let's fix this broken show.
