Chapter 9

After lunch I walked Esther back to Uni for her next class. "What time do you finish work tonight?" I asked her once we reached the campus. "Seven" she replied. I nod. "We can start studying tonight after you finish work if you'd like to" I tell her. She smiles "yeah that'd be good the sooner I start the better and plus I'll be having exams soon". I smile and say "I'll see you later tonight then". As I start to walk away I feel a small hand grab my arm. I look at Esther "thank you" she says "for doing this for me". I give her a smile and start walking back to the apartment.

It takes me about ten minutes before I reach the apartment. I unlock the door and walk inside, putting all my Uni work away. I go into the kitchen and grab a apple out of the fruit bowl, sitting on the stool as I scroll down my phone. I chuck my apple core in the bin and before I know it Esther's rushing through the door jogging upstairs. I smile and continue looking through my phone. I hear Esther come down the stairs and I look up from my phone. She's wearing a black dress that hugs her in all the right places and her hairs pulled into a messy bun. She makes effortless look so good. I smile at her and quickly look down at my phone before I'm caught staring. Esther sits on the stool opposite of me chewing on a banana. Once she's finished she chucks the peel in the bin and says "Catcha later" as she walks out the door. "Seeya Esther" I reply. 

Not long after Esther left, Lucas and Rose walk through the door. "Hey man" Lucas says "me and Rose are going out tonight so it'll just be you and Esther". Him and Rose wiggle their eyebrows knowingly. I roll my eyes. "Whatever man, we're just studying" I tell him. He slaps me on the shoulder and says "yeah yeah keep telling yourself that man". I smile and shake my head. "Shouldn't you be getting ready for your date?" I question them. "Ahh trying to get rid of us I see" Lucas muses. Rose has already headed into the bathroom. As Lucas is walking into his room he shouts "remember to use a condom!". "Shut up Lucas you idiot! get your head out of the gutter" I yell back. I hear him laugh. I roll my eyes and walk off to my room. 

Once in my room I take my shirt off and fall back on my bed. I close my eyes and relax. After a considerable amount of time I hear a knock on my door. It must be Esther. I get up and open my door. I smile when I see her. "Come in" I tell her as I step aside holding the door open. She walks through the door and I gently shut it behind her. Esther stands there looking around my room. I grab a shirt and put it on and sit on my bed. I pat the spot next to me "shall we get started?" I ask. She nods and sits on the bed next to me opening her text books.

Esther is currently laying on her stomach next to me with her text books in front of her trying to understand the information I'm drilling into her head. She's actually quite a smart girl. "So where are Lucas and Rose?" she asks after we decided on having a break. I shrug "I think Lucas said something about them going out on a date tonight". "I swear they're never home" she says flicking through a text book. I laugh leaning against the head board of my bed with my arms behind my head. "Oooh can we watch Big Bang?" Esther asks excitedly.  "Where supposed to be studying" I say. "Aw don't be such a nerd" she says throwing a pillow at my face. I laugh and throw it back. "Fine" I say "I guess we have been studying for awhile". She smiles and claps her hands "yesss". I laugh at her cuteness and put on Big Bang. She sits up and rests her head on my shoulder. I smile. We watch Big Bang for awhile and then Esther falls asleep. I rub my eyes sleepily and get up quietly trying not to wake her. I take off my shirt and pants so I'm left in my boxers. I slip back in bed without making a sound. I lay down on the other side next to Esther and fall asleep.

I wake up to find Esther in my arms, pressed up against my chest and wide eyed. My eyes widen and I push her away from my chest. "What the hell" I say and look down to see I'm only in my boxers. No we didn't? I look at Esther to see she's wearing the same clothes as yesterday. "It's okay we didn't you know" she says shyly. I nod and run my hands through my hair remembering how I didn't want to wake her last night. "Sorry about that" I say. She shrugs "it's okay you make a good pillow". I smile and throw a pillow at her.
