Daniels pov

I'm lazily sitting on the couch when I hear my phone ringing. I pick up and her Merida's voice.
"Hey honey."
I turn off the tv.
"Hey," I say, my voice hinting I don't wanna talk to her right now. Not after what happened at Mike's.
"I was wondering," Merida says.
"If I could come over friday night."
Nope. "Uhm," I bring out, not knowing what to tell her.
"I can't this friday. There's uh.. There's a party."
"A party?" Merida asks and I nod, though I know she can't see me.
"Yeah, a party."
"Am I invited?"
God, no. "Of course. I'll text you the address."
"Great, love you."
"Love you too."
I sigh and hang up. There's no party this friday, but I think I have a solution for that. I go to contacts in my phone and search for my friend Chad. I call him and he immediately picks up.
"Hey Daniel, what's up?"
"I need you to throw a party."
"I thought you said I should party less and focus on my school career?"
I laugh. "That's true, but I need your help. Merida wanted to come over and I told her I'm going to a party."
"Good excuse."
"Not really, now she also wanta to come."
I can hear Chad sighing.
"You have to tell her, man. You can't keep on pretending you love her."
"I know, I know. But I can't."
"Whatever. Where does this party need to take place?"
I raise my eyebrows.
"At yours?"
"Sure," he says and hangs up. Chad's right, I have to tell Merida how I really feel about her. But oh, it would break her heart. I can't let her deal with all this alone and-
A text message pops up.
A message from Kylo.
Pretentious Daniel, you have to stop lying. See me friday after school at 4.
I text him back.
What are you trying to do?
He answers within seconds.
You'll see. Just come on friday.

Jacky's pov

I'm doodling in my notebook, pretending to listen to the story my art's teacher telling us.
"So, for your next project you will be pairing up in groups of two."
She starts naming the pairs and I put my pencil down, curious about who's gonna be my partner.
"Dave and Ramon. Jacky and Jamie-"
Wait. No. I notice Jamie looking at me from the other side of the classroom as the teacher continues reading the names out loud. I sigh and start doodling again, avoiding eye contact with Jamie.
