3 a.m. Thoughts

Brad's predicament was peculiar and a tad uncomfortable, but he knew he wouldn't change it for the world. Vero had passed out against his shoulder during a movie with the 10 hour difference and many-hour flight she stayed awake for the entirety of finally taking it's toll on her. His arm had gone numb under the weight of her head, and her long hair was fluffy, mussed up; and tickling the side of his neck. He was pretty sure she was drooling on him to, but couldn't bring himself to care.

With her body wedged tight against his side and her snoring beautifully on his chest, Brad couldn't help but wonder how the fuck he ever got so lucky.

Vero.

There were a lot of places to start with Vero, so he'd start with the ones that were currently causing his the most trouble: the way her body pressed up against his own, heavy and soft and so wonderfully real.

Vero had complained about her height and weight before, but Brad could never see a problem. She was the perfect height to tuck under his chin when they went to hug, a fact that Brad was elated to have discovered just the other day. She was soft too - where Brad was all hard angles and rough and calluses, she was somehow soft everywhere. Ridiculously comforting to hold; Brad wouldn't admit out loud (at least yet) that all he wanted to do was just lie there and hold her. Thankfully that wish had come true on it's own. And the way she felt... Brad was slowly being driven mad in the best way possible and he felt her chest rise and fall against his side, but if this was how he was going to go - staring at the gorgeous woman against his chest sleeping peacefully, an arm around his stomach and the other tucked closely to her chest - then he wouldn't complain. He reached out and carded a hand through her hair gently, careful not to pull, just to reassure she was real. And thank god, she was.

Vero was hard to put into words, but that's because there were only so many to describe her. She was one of the kindest people Brad had ever met. She was never unwilling to listen, always taking time out of her day to talk to whomever needed the emotional support. She loved her friends fiercely, and her devotion to them was something he could only hope to match. She was fierce too: when something bothered her, she wasn't afraid to call out the person instead of letting it slide, and she wouldn't let her own opinion be bogged down by others. It was wonderful to see her tear apart the people who deserved it, even through her own secondary actions (he still wondered if she regretted giving him mod permissions on her channel, but she never revoked it, so...). Her selflessness couldn't not be admired too: her community could have only been so generous and welcoming through her own devotion and demonstration; and he was so happy she cultivated such a wonderful environment. She gave so much of her own life to her viewers too and asked for so little in return; he'd never met someone like that.

And her talents, don't even get him started. No matter what she said Vero was one of the best artists he'd ever seen. She'd spend time upon time again for him making thumbnails for her own and their joint videos; and those were always his favorite ones. She created so much by herself and with friends; her talents were truly astounding at times.

And don't even get him started on her laugh. It was contagious, addictive, and possibly the best thing he'd ever heard. Loud, boisterous, and free; it was what let him know what he was doing to make her happy was working. What signaled her unrestrained confidence. And when she snorted while laughing? It was possibly the cutest thing he'd ever heard.

So he laid there at 3 am in the morning, staring at his sleeping girlfriend tucked up against his side, and came to the realization that he loved her.

He really loved her.

"I love Vero." he breathed out loud, just to hear the words himself.

"I'm in love with Vero. I love Vero." he started to giggle, and felt the woman in question at his side stir.

"Wha...? Brad?" she said, her voice still thick with sleep. "What's going on? What're you talking about?"

"I'm in love with you, Vero." he said absentmindedly, still reveling in his realization.

Brad felt her stiffen against his side. What had he...? Oh.

Oh.

"You wake me up at 3 am, only to tell me you love me for the first time?" her voice was incredulous, tinged with amusement.

"Well, in love with you. But yes. I didn't mean to, but it's as good a time as ever."

"...well, I'm in love with you too, you big dork."

Vero moved up and pressed a kiss to his chin, before moving back to her previous position on her chest. "Now go back to sleep, Brad. I'm tired as fuck."

"Okay. I love you." He said once again, and carded his hand through her hair again, making her hum.

"I love you too, Brad."

Yep a double upload! Apparently I got my mojo back. Keep sending prompts  people, they really really help and I love to write 'em! If you have any requests beyond pg-13 or whatever, I'll probably be publishing those separately. Let's hope I can keep up this streak and update again in a day or two.
