Lucy's POV

I wake up to the sweet smell of hot syrup and freshly made pancakes. "Mmmm" I groan as I roll over breathing in the delicious smell of mum's homemade cooking. She makes the same thing every last day of the holidays before school. I pull my duvet up to my face, taking in the scent of freshly washed sheets, savouring my last few moments in bed.

I sleepily swing my legs out from under the duvet and let the hang over the edge of the bed before jumping up, only to fall flat on my face...

"Ouch! What the hell?"

"Ow! what's happening?"

Oh my god! he's still here, I completely forgot... How am I going to get him out of here?

"Benedict!" I say, suddenly wide awake and in disbelief. Ben starts to rub his eyes looking slightly confused as he takes in the surroundings of my bedroom, looking at the fairy lights that are pinned to the wall above my bed, still giving off a light glow even though the morning sun is pouring in through my balcony windows; he carries on admiring the little objects and clothes dotted around my room, before his eyes lock with mine and I suddenly become very aware that I'm still lying across his hips from where I'd fallen; and I can feel my eyes widen in my realisation.

"oh, um, I'm sorry, tripped when I got out of bed... Sorry. "I manage to stammer out my explanation for lying on him.

"Lucy?" my mum calls out as she knock on my door. "are you okay? I though I heard a bang..."

Both Benedict and I scramble to our feet at the sound of her voice.

"um just a minute mum."

I look over at Ben who's now smiling due to the look of shock on my face, finding the fact that my mum might find him in here very funny; however, he's not doing a very good job at hiding it. I bend down and pick up the duvet and pillows that he was sleeping on off the floor and throw them at him signalling for him to get out of the view of the door and to not make a sound, just as my mum opens the door...

I lung myself towards her, wrapping my arms around her neck and using my force to push her back into the hall.

"Oh my, what was that for? are you okay?" she mumbles from the crook of my neck as she tries to regain her balance.

"Nothing, I'm just happy to see you." I reply, quickly glancing over my shoulder to check she can't see Benedict. "How was your party last night?"

"Oh yeah, it was really good, your dad had a bit too much to drink so he's not going into work until this afternoon. He's still in bed at the moment, I've just brought his breakfast up, do you want yours up here too before I head off to work?"

"Oh no, you don't need to I'll come down and get it in a bit" I smile and give her a kiss goodbye before retreating back into my room and closing the door.

"That was too close."

"I'm sorry, I forgot to wake up, I guess I was more exhausted than I thought" Benedict replies, walking towards and stopping centimetres in-front of me. "How can I make it up to you?" He says in that voice that sound like velvet running through my ears. He pushes a strand of hair behind my ear, I look up and into his eyes, those perfect sea blue eyes with flakes of green dotted around the pupils, I blink and quickly look away again not wanting to full under his spell.

"You need to go before my dad drags himself out of bed" I say while looking at the floor.

"You want me to go?" he replies gently placing two fingers under my chin lifting it up, forcing me to look at him.

"No, I don't want you to go, but my parents can't know that anyone, let alone a guy, has stayed here, I mean I'd love you to stay for lon..." Ben cuts of my rambling by placing a hand on the small of my back, gently pulling me towards him, as he uses his other hand to cup my face before kissing me.

As soon as his lips touch mine I feel myself melting into him lost within his touch, letting his warmth wrap itself around me, making me connect with him like a puzzle piece that's finally found its partner. I lift up my arms and tangle them around his neck, welcoming his warmth and wanting more. The way he slowly moves his hands to my waist pulling me even closer sends sparks of passion through my body, making me feel numb under his muscular grasp.

I can't believe the way that he makes me feel whenever he looks at me, but this, this sensation I get when he touches me, kisses me, must be the connection people talk about, the connection you experience when you've found love, true love... But I can't feel love, not at 17... can I?

"Mmmm" Ben groans into my mouth and I respond by hugging him even tighter, some how hoping that are bodies will merge into one.

BANG!

We both jump at the loud closing of a door, pulling us from our daze and away from each other.

"Um, c'mon, you better go while my dad's busy."

Ben looks at me with a sad puppy dog face. Oh my, that face is making my heart melt. NO! Lucy snap out of it, you barely know him, and lets face it you're never going to see him again after today.

"I'm not falling for it." Is all I say before poking my head around my door to check the coast is clear, and to my relief my dad's still busy in the bathroom. I signal to Ben to follow me, he picks up his jacket and we quietly make our way down the stairs.

"Grrrrrrrrr!" Ben and I reach the bottom of the stairs and turn around to see Harvey glaring and growling at us.

"Great. Now you choose to notice him." I whisper angrily towards the dog.

"What?" Ben looks at me with an adorably cute confused smile which sets his perfectly sculptured high check bones off. Snap out of it Lucy!

"It doesn't matter. Harvey go away!" I click my fingers and point to his bed, he obediently walks over to it, but as soon as we, or rather Ben, starts to move again he growls and walks to block our way to the door.

"Argh! It's because he doesn't know you." I explain to Ben, but when I turn to look at him he's not there... He's lying on the floor talking like a two year old.

"What are you doing?" I giggle.

"I'm communicating with your dog, showing him that I'm not going to hurt him."

"Okaaaayy?" I look at him thinking he's gone crazy, until Harvey  starts to slowly walk towards him. "I don't believe it..." Ben carefully moves into a sitting position and Harvey plonks himself in front of Ben and starts wagging his tail madly when Ben pats him.

"See, no need to look at me like I've lost it. He just needed to know I'm not a threat."

"Lucy?" The bathroom door opens at the top of the stairs

"Quickly, you need to go... Now!" I run to the door with Ben close behind, I open it but he hesitates half way out.

"What are you doing? Go."

He bends down and kisses me quickly. "I was wondering if..."

"Lucy is that you?" My dad asks as heads downstairs cutting Ben's off.

"Go!" I insist, pushing Ben out the house just as my dad reaches the bottom of the stairs.

"Just getting the mail" I say grabbing the letters that mum must have put on the small table next to the door before leaving.
