BackStory: AquaMarine

        AquaMarine, the name that stood out. The dove in the flock of pigeons, though she saw it the other way around. She wasn't like the others; the others weren't like her. She was different; they were all the same. She was the water to the fire; she washed away all your pretty layers, and revealed the true you. She knew she was different, but she had no idea she was this different.    

Aqua was wearing what she always wears, a black ripped up shirt with fading ripped blue jeans that end at her calves. Her hair was a golden brown with bright colorful dyed ends. She never changed, she was always the same.

    "I think you have something on your neck." The tall blonde haired girl snickered. Aqua knew what she was talking about and she gave no effort to look down. She was talking about her tattoos. She was under age, she was only 17. But the tattoos were not her choice.

    "Freak." Emma mocked once again. Emma was the blonde, tall, blued eyed girl that every girl wished to be, that every boy wished to have. But there was no difference between her and the other girls, they are all the same once they've washed off the makeup and the pretty clothes. They were all mind eating monsters that wouldn't stop until they fully devoured you to the last bit. But she could never fully destroy AquaMarine, she flickered the flame but never blew it out.

    Aqua stared at the board in the front of the classroom as the girls around her laughed and mocked her. She thought back to why she was like this, why she was the freak of the school. She spent the rest of the class hour daydreaming and trying to remember the good moments in her life. There were very few happy moments Aqua had, most made up of her and the beach.

    She liked sea life more than human life, explains the name. When Aqua was born, she was originally named Chleo Mar, but she will no longer speak of that name. She changed her name for many reasons and her new name symbolised a lot of different things.
First reason was because of her parents. When she was born, her doctor noticed colored dots all around her body, they couldn't figure out what had caused them. All her parents ever dreamed of was a perfect child, Aqua was anything but perfect to them. They didn't want a baby with a disease the doctors couldn't fix. Her parents left her to survive on her own, no family, no home, no love. Aqua no longer wanted to think of her family, so she changed her name.

Second reason was because of her tattoos. The dots on her body stayed with her as she grew older, but they didn't stay as dots. Those dots turned to tattoos, all related to sea life. Aqua could never figure out why she had them and how they formed.

Third reason was her eyes. Her eyes were a story book filled with wonders, an ocean in the middle and a green forest the border. AquaMarine was the perfect name for the color.

    Final reason was because of her love for sea life, nothing made her more happy than the water. Aqua, meaning having to do with the water. Marine, meaning produced by the sea. The water spoke to her and she spoke to it. She loved all of the creatures and plants that live in it and even the water itself.

The school day ended and Aqua walked out of school. Her walk home was always the same, the other kids would throw trash at her, mock her, laugh at her, and sometimes even hurt her. Some know not to hurt her, but others don't learn.

"Hey sea girl! I got you something." A male freshman yelled out to her.

"Shut up." She quickly snarled without looking back.

The freshman walked up close to her, only inches away. She could feel him behind her, but she did not look back. He quietly pushed her to the ground as his friend recorded her. He laughed with his friends, but when Aqua turned around the laughing instantly stopped.
