Healing and Miracles

Healing and miracles sort of go hand in hand. A healing is a miracle, afterall.

I think there are times in which each of us possess the gift of healing; when we pray for healing in a person is such a time.

However, I don't think we see healing and miracles as much as we use to. The main cause of that would be a lack of faith. A healer and a miracle worker has to be one of great faith, and must people, even seasoned Christians, lack the amount of faith to perform healing and miracles in today's world.

The one being healed also has to possess faith. In today's society many people who are sick and in need of healing have a "pity party" mindset, thus have a lack of faith.

I think the best example of a biblical healing (besides the healings and miracles performed by Jesus) is found in Acts 3, the story of Peter and John healing the lame man at the beautiful gate. The apostles and the lame man both had to have a great deal of faith in order for the lame man to be healed.

I know tonight is kind of sort and not packed full of a lot of info, but truth is I'm not very familiar with the gifts of healing and of miracles. I encourage you to study healing and miracles for yourself, and I will do the same.

Father, I just pray that you'll allow us to learn and understand more of healing and miracles through Your Holy Scripture and the teachers of Your followers. I pray that if anyone reading this has the gift of healing or miracles that they'll embrace it and use it and won't be ashamed of what others may say. Faith healing and the working of miracles isn't popular today, Father. People think that it doesn't happen and isn't possible and that we're totally bonkers. But Father, You promised us that we would be able to perform miracles, heal, raise the dead, cast out demons, and anything else in Your name Father, and we trust in that.
