"Kookie," Jimin pouted as he shuffled into the living room, "I think we need to go shopping."
Jungkook looked up from the electricity bill, brow furrowed, but it quickly turned to a laugh as he saw Jimin.
The shorter male was standing there, glaring at his fiancé, in his too tight jeans and too small shirt, "It's not funny!"
"No," Jungkook pulled him into his lap, "It's adorable that you're still trying to dress up for me."
"What're you talking about you self centered meanie?," Jimin blushed and crossed his arms, sinking into Jungkook's arms.
"Well, these are my favorite jeans on you and, if I remember correctly, this is the shirt I bought you for Christmas two years ago."
Jimin grumbled something, then exclaimed, "I can't look sexy in anything anymore!"
"Yes you can-"
"I'm not talking about my birthday suit, Kookie."
"I'm not either," the younger pecked his temple, "You're welcome to wear anything of mine."
Jimin started playing with his fingers then gripped the younger's arm as he pushed himself up.
One more month now. It was about midway through April and the baby was due in mid May.
The couple still had yet to pick out names, for either gender, and Jimin was starting to get a little worried.
Jungkook wasn't too concerned with it, he had a few names in mind, but this was his baby and he wanted to give them every name in the world so that they weren't left out of anything.
He had one point had even considered naming them Ever, but Jimin's English wasn't as developed as his own and he couldn't really pronounce the 'v' sound.
So they were down to zero names once again.
"Jungkook," Jimin came back out in boxers and one of Kook's oversized hoodies, plopping himself back in the taller's lap.
"Yes lovely?," he ran his fingertips through the shorter's hair.
"We need names," Jimin whispered, sighing as his head rested on Jung's shoulder.
"Yeah...maybe we should just name them after Tae-"
"No, please...no."
Kook laughed, wrapping his arms around Jimin's waist and lightly rocking him, "Well, let's start with girl names."
"Do you want another girl?"
"I don't know," Jungkook smiled to himself, "I want my family already."
Jimin giggled, his palm coming up to lay out on Jung's chest, "Me too."
"So, do you wanna search up some names or just try to think of one."
Jimin shrugged, "I feel like....I mean, this is our baby. They're gonna be perfect and you can't just pick one name for perfection."
"Yes you can," Jungkook chuckled, his thumb ghosting over Jimin's lip.
"What name-"
"Park Jimin," the younger smiled, "Soon to be Jeon Jimin."
"That's two names Kookie. My point remains," Jimin smirked and laced their fingers together.
"Then we'll find them the perfect name and never let them get married," Jung joked.
"That's cruel and unusual punishment," Jimin laughed, "Very unusual.""What do you want them to be?," Tae Hyung laid his head down on the coffee table, "Not like...gender, but...personality."
"Happy," Jungkook grabbed Jimin's hand, "I want a happy baby to match my happy fiancé."
"What about you Jiminie?," Tae asked.
"Uh...definitely a caring person. The world needs those kinds of people...but I don't want them to be so nice that other people walk all over them," his free hand came up to caress his swollen belly.
"I see," Tae looked up from his notepad, "So, for girls we have Yeh Jin, Bit Na, and- my favorite- Tae Yun."
Jimin giggled and watched Tae Hyung do a small happy dance.
"And boys we got Kwang Su, Sung Ki, or- again, my favorite- Ji Tae."
"Jeez, I wonder why you like those names so much?," Kook asked sarcastically.
"It is a mystery to us all," Tae smiled brightly, "So, are me and Hobi gonna be the godparents?"
"Actually," Jungkook looked to Jimin, "We were thinking of asking Yoon Gi and you. Not that Ho Seok isn't fit for it, just...since it's Jimin's baby, we figured Yoon Gi would like them a whole lot regardless of how they turn out."
"Him? But aren't godparents supposed to be like...a couple?"
"Not necessarily," Jimin shook his head, "Um, well, they're just people in your life that you love and trust and we trust you and Yoon Gi with our baby's life."
"I have to live with this don't I? I can't change it at all?"
"Well, we still have to ask hyung," Jungkook said, "If he says he doesn't want to, then Ho Seok is definitely our alternative."
"Ah, I see," Tae perked up, "So there's still hope for me yet. Side note, what day do you guys think they'll get here? I'm taking people's money and they're betting."
"Aish Tae," Jimin sighed as Jungkook laughed, "I think...May fifteenth."
"What about you Kookie?," Tae wrote down Jimin's guess.
"May....twenty second."
"Alright and how much are you wagering?"
"Zero," Kook said.
"A thousand won," Jimin shrugged.
Tae sighed, "This is serious you guys. Gambling is an art and I don't take it lightly."
"You need to take a break from it," Jimin giggled, "You'll wake up one day and Ho Seok'll have you tied down in a padded room."
"Kinky. I'll suggest that to him in the future," Tae said it calmly, but Jimin just shrieked.
"That's not-"
"I know," Kim giggled, "Still. But anyway, let me know when you guys pick out a name. I'll get you a little something." The second youngest stood up and moved around the table to give Jimin a hug.
"Okay, bye Tae. Thanks for helping," Jimin hugged him back then let him go.
He walked himself to the door as Jungkook reached over the table and grabbed the notepad Tae had.
The two of them studied the names, Jungkook looking at the girls names a little longer. He liked them, a lot, but he didn't think any of them matched well with Joo Min. When he remembered all his kids, he wanted their names to sound well together.
"What's wrong?," Jimin placed the younger's hand on his own stomach.
"I don't know. I really like these names, but..."
"None of them's as good as Joo Min, huh?"
Kook shook his head.
Jimin inhaled and pushed himself up so that he could straddle the younger's lap, "I know how you feel, but we can't base the rest of our lives off her. Remember? We don't have to forget-"
"But we have to move on."
Jimin smiled, bringing his hands up to Kook's cheeks, "You're a great man Jungkook," he smiled, "I'm more than positive you'll be the perfect father."
Jung's hands fell to Jimin's hips and he looked to the older's stomach, "What if they don't like me?"
"They'll love you."
"What if I do something wrong?"
"You have to learn Jungkook," Jimin giggled, "You'll pick up on things quick. I know you. Maybe one or two slip ups at the start, but then you'll be just fine."
The younger leaned forward and kissed Jimin's belly, then looked up and pressed a kiss to his lips.
"So," Jimin picked up the discarded list, "Since we like how all these names sound, let's see which one we liked spelled out the most."
Jungkook's hand slid around to the older's belly and, after a second, he felt a kick against his palm. It made him smile, and Jimin liked to see that.Jungkook got out of the shower, not really bothering to dry off. He fluffed his hair with a towel a little.
When he walked into the bedroom, he half expected Jimin to be there- playing on his phone, just the way he left him.
But he's not.
The cop moved over to his dresser and slid on a pair of boxers, then left the bedroom.
He could see Jimin across the way, leaning against the doorframe to the nursery.
He quietly walked up behind him and wrapped his arms around his middle, "Whatcha doin'?"
Jimin inhaled, bringing his hands up to rub the younger's arms, "Admiring your handiwork."
"Aw, c'mon. Tae Hyung did the back wall," Jungkook pointed to the wall where fairy lights hung.
"Yeah, but I'm sure you had to explain how the sticky hooks worked," Jimin giggled.
"Actually...yeah. The poor guy," Kook nuzzled his nose into the crook of the older's neck.
Jimin leaned back into his fiancé and sighed, closing his eyes and trying to relax his muscles. His back had been hurting a lot lately, "Kookie?"
"Hm?"
"Can you make me a promise?," Jimin moved to turn around in the other's grasp.
"Sure baby," Kook pecked the silver haired male's forehead.
"First thing after I have the baby, promise me you'll give me a back massage."
The younger laughed and pulled Jimin as close as he could get while still minding Jimin's protruding stomach, "I think I can do that," he nodded.
"Thank you," Jimin threw his arms over Jung's shoulders and pecked his lips, "My back hurts so much."
"I'm sorry. If there was another way for us to do this, I wouldn't put you through all the pain and junk."
"I don't mind," Jimin whispered, bringing his left hand down to his stomach, "Not as long as it's with you."Jimin shot up in bed, pain in his stomach making him panic. He looked to the clock and read half past three in the morning. Then he turned to Jungkook and shook him.
The younger grabbed his hand and rolled to his side, facing him.
"Kookie, wake u-ah!," Jimin couldn't keep the cry of pain down.
Jungkook's eyes shot open and he jolted up, "What's wrong?!"
"M-My water broke," Jimin managed to open his eyes just enough to see the other.
"Seriously?," Jungkook blinked.
"Yeah, seriously," the older somehow laughed before he had to let out another cry.
"O-Okay, um...wh-what do we do?," Jungkook jumped up from the bed.
"Call an ambulance and get dressed," Jimin slowly swung his legs out of bed, "Then pack me a bag with some clothes and make sure Tae Hyung knows it's time."
"Right," Jungkook scrambled to find his phone and get a bag together for his fiancé."Tae Hyung," Jungkook took a sharp turn, following the ambulance Jimin was in, "It's time. The baby's coming."
"What? Now?," the older whined over the phone, "It's so early though."
"Good to know my kid won't be waiting around for you," Jungkook laughed, "Just go to the central hospital. I'll tell them you're coming."
"And Hobi?"
"Yeah him too. Hey, can you swing by Yoon Gi's and tell him too?"
"Uh, yeah. See you soon Kook. Congrats."
"Thanks," the younger smiled, "See you there."After six hours of labor and lots of screaming, Jimin finally gave birth to a beautiful baby girl.
"Time?," the doctor called out as he cut the umbilical cord.
"Ten thirty seven," a nurse said as another wrote it down.
The doctor handed the couple's baby to a nurse and their eyes never left her.
"Jungkook," Jimin breathed out, "Wanna hold her."
"Just a second, they have to wrap her up," Kook leaned down and pecked the older's forehead.
Jimin swallowed his saliva, his head lolling to the side as his eyes fell shut. After a second, his grip diminished and Jung looked down to see him asleep.
"Would you like to give her her first bath?," the nurse walked up to Jungkook, who looked back to Jimin, "Don't worry we'll just take him to his room."
"Sure," Jungkook reached out, following the nurse's instructions down to a t. Support the baby's head, hold them close, and don't let her feet dangle.
"Do you have a name in mind?," the nurse with a clipboard asked as she walked Jungkook to the room where they bathed newborns.
Jungkook smiled down at his daughter, her fingers wrapped around his pinky. He thought back to his and Jimin's conversation and chuckled, "Yeh Na."
"Beautiful," the nurse smiled to him, "Now, do you know how to properly bathe her?"
"No idea," Jung shook his head, but his smile never faltered.
"Come along then," the nurse laughed, "I'll teach you."-----
Hey, Ari here, uh (duh who else would it be?) but anyway, I just a quick question. Were the time skips confusing to anyone the way I have them?
While editing I noticed how it could get a bit, well, confusing.
If the time skips weren't clear to anyone then you can leave me suggestions on how to improve on them. I'd really appreciate the feedback.
Thanks so much for reading!
