"I don't know what your problem is dude," Yoon Gi sighed as he stared at the prisoner. A mere two hours ago, he reached through the bars and stabbed an officer in the side....with a knife he somehow managed to keep on his person.
"Min, stop," Jungkook quietly spoke.
"He's a person, Guk. I'm gonna talk to him," Yoon knew the younger's complaint before it even left his lips be cause he always said the same thing.
"Why would you wanna talk to me?," the guy asked. It startled the two officers; none of the others ever spoke back.
"Well," Yoon Gi smirked, "I need to know a few things and I'm very aware that you have the answers."
"Like what?," he said slowly, "You guys got everything you need on me sent over here from Daegu, right? What else do you need?"
"Everything you held out on them."
"None of that matters-"
"You killed someone," Jungkook spat.
"Hm," the guy smirked, "Maybe you didn't have your contacts in when you read that, pretty boy," he sighed, "I didn't mean to kill her."
"Who was she to you? At the end?," Yoon Gi asked this; the only officer Kook knew who could pull emotions from stone-cold killers.
He looked down to his hands and shook his head, "It doesn't matter now."
"It does," Yoon Gi chimed in, "You just don't realize how much it matters. Maybe you will in a few years or few seconds."
Jungkook's gaze flicked to his friend when Yoon Gi stood up, "Where are you going?"
"Coffee run. You two want anything?," Jung shook his head, so Min turned towards the other, "What about you?"
"I don't have any money."
"There's a lot you don't have right now," he chuckled, "Do you like your coffee black?"
The guy nodded after a few seconds and Yoon Gi left.
Jungkook kept it silent between the two of them, his brain remembering everything he read in the file. Then he got really curious about who this guy killed and why he looked so upset when asked about it.
"Who was she?," Jung asked softly.
"Why do you care?"
"Was she someone special? Not just like...a random person to you?"
He leaned back against the cell wall and nodded, "My girlfriend...my fiancé."
"What happened?"
"You already know. She died and I did it...but I didn't want to."
"How does that happen?"
"Look, don't ask about it. You wouldn't get it if I told you, so what does it matter?"
Jungkook dropped his head at that and licked his lips, "I lost someone special a long time ago too. About fifteen years ago."
The guy shuffled around a bit, but still didn't look up to the officer.
"My wife, who was just my...well, it sounds crazy, but he was just my boyfriend at the time. And...he...got pregnant with my first child."
The guy furrowed his brow and looked up to Jungkook, who chuckled a little.
"Yeah, I told you it'd sound crazy. Anyway, about...six almost seven months into the pregnancy, we lost the baby. We already knew they were a girl and we had a whole plan for when she arrived, but...she never had the chance."
"I'm sorry," the guy said quietly.
"It's fine, thanks," Kook left a small pause as he thought for a second, "You know...at first, it hurt like a bitch. But I talked it out with my wife and he...made everything better. I lost someone, but I didn't lose everyone. And even though I didn't get to know my first daughter, I still remember her everyday of my life."
"You keep saying your first daughter."
Jungkook smiled, "Yeah. I have a fourteen year old at home. She's the light of my life. I love her and my wife with everything that I have. But they aren't the only special people in my life. What about you? Got anybody else?"
The guy was silent for about a minute, then he nodded, "My brother back in Daegu...my little brother."
"Are you close?"
"Extremely," the guy smiled, "He came to see me everyday when I was in prison. He was just a student then, so he'd do his homework while we talked. I may or may not have wrote an essay for him...twice."
Jungkook laughed at that and the guy chuckled a bit, "So, you still have people worth caring for. How will you do that if you're locked up all the time?"
He fell silent after that, eyes softening as he looked to the floor.
Yoon Gi came back, a coffee in each hand. He handed the guy his cup through the bars and he took it, muttering a small thanks.
Yoon Gi nodded and looked at Kook, who lightly smiled.

"Momma," Yeh reached over and grabbed her mother's hand.
Jimin gripped her hand tight, looking over to her with a sad smile, "I know baby, we're almost there."
"Where's dad?"
"He had to go into work really early this morning. I'll text him when we get there, I promise."
Yeh sighed and closed her eyes, trying to swallow the vomit in her throat. It was all blood; clotted and iron-y.
"Does your head still hurt?"
"No, it must've been because I was crying."
Jimin brought her hand to his lips and kissed her wrist, "You'll be alright."
