Jung Kook had changed out of his uniform and was laying across the bed, phone hovering above his face as he played a matching game.
He heard the front door open, but Jimin's rushed, excited footsteps told him it'd be useless to get up.
To prove his point, Jimin opened the bedroom door a second later.
"Hey Kookie," Jimin sighed out, breathing heavy.
"Hey ba-," he stopped and stared at his boyfriend.
Jimin's hair was red now, parted more towards the center and instead of cut, the length was used to frame his face.
Kook dropped his phone and it landed right on his lip.
"Ow!," he sat up, holding his mouth.
"Kookie!," Jimin rushed over and sat on Jung Kook's lap, "Are you okay?"
"Yeah," he nodded, moving his hand to check for blood.
"It's not bleeding. You're okay," Jimin smiled, his palms resting on Kook's cheeks.
"You look....amazing," Jung Kook ran his fingers through his boyfriend's hair.
"You actually like it?," Jimin smiled, his tongue poking out through his teeth.
"Yes, I do. I really do," Kook nodded.
Jimin smiled and dropped his head as a small blush tinted his cheeks. They hadn't been this close for a while. He liked it and missed it.
"Jin hyung said I have the next month off," Jung smiled up at him and put his hands behind himsef to lean on them.
"Yeah?," Jimin smiled as best he could when his hands fell off Jung Kook's face.
"Mhm," he nodded, pressing his lips together.
"Um," Jimin's palms landed on his thighs, "You hungry?"
"A little. Did you eat with Tae? Are you hungry?"
"We had coffee and muffins," Jimin lightly smiled.
"How long ago?"
"About three hours," he shrugged.
"Hm...," Kook tilted his head to the side, "Do we have chicken?"
Jimin nodded, "Is that what you want?"
"Yes, very much," Jung smiled.
"Are you gonna help make it?," Jimin climbed off his lap and held his hand out.
"Of course. I won't get any if I don't," he grabbed Jimin's hand and pulled himself to the edge of the bed.
"Any what?," Jimin asked quietly as he blushed.
"Chicken," Kook smiled as he stood up, leading Jimin out the door.
He kept looking back at his short elder, admiring the way his hair fell when he looked down.
"What?," Jimin laughed out.
"Nothing you just...look good," Jung Kook rubbed the back of his neck with his empty hand.
"Hm," Jimin happily hummed, "Thank you baby."

Jung Kook ate like he had worked all day long. He barely breathed in between bites.
Jimin smiled, covering his mouth with his hand. When Jung Kook started to, almost literally, inhale his vegetables, Jimin giggled.
Kook looked up, chewing a bit before swallowing, "What?"
"Nothing," Jimin shook his head, "I'm glad you like it."
Jung Kook smiled as he chewed his next bite of chicken.
Jimin watched him for a little longer then lost his smile as he continued to eat.
It was quiet as lunch carried on, Jung Kook eating as fast as he could pick up the food.
Jimin stopped and sighed, "Kookie, are you okay?," he asked quietly.
"Hm? Yeah, I'm fine," he nodded.
Jimin saw the lie because of how frequently he blinked, "Jung Kook-"
"Jimin, we can't fix this. We just can't. No matter how much we talk about it, Joo Min is still gone."
Jimin had to blink back his tears, wanting to get through one conversation without sobbing.
"Don't do this," Jimin shook his head, "Don't push me away, please. Just talk to me."
"We have talked-"
"But it's obvious you're still hurting," Jimin's voice cracked, "And I don't know how to fix it because you won't tell me."
"I don't know how to fix it, Jimin. Believe me, if I did, I wouldn't sleep until everything was better."
"Then just tell me what's bothering you, please. I can't watch you fake smiles anymore."
Jung Kook put down his knife and sat back in his seat.
Jimin counted the seconds until his boyfriend spoke, getting up to three minutes and twenty two seconds.
"I don't blame you, Jimin. I never blamed you. But I was so...happy, when we were told you could have kids- and that we were. I was so ready to be a dad. And the world took that from me."
Jimin dropped his head, poking his teeth with his tongue.
'He doesn't blame you' Jimin told himself.
That was comforting, but Jimin blamed himself. He felt like it was his fault, that he wasn't doing something right when he still had Joo Min in his belly.
"Jimin, look at me," Jung Kook whispered.
Jimin lifted his head and saw Kook leaning on the table, food pushed aside no matter how much he enjoyed it.
"It's no one's fault. It is not your fault. Don't blame yourself for a second," Jung Kook said sternly.
Jimin nodded, "Okay."
Jung Kook made sure to keep eye contact with him for another minute before he reached across the table and held his boyfriend's hand.
Jimin watched as his fingers disappeared under the younger's hand, and he felt his heart swell up.
The shorter male's next question took all the strength he had to ask it, "How come...you haven't touched me since we lost her?"
"Jimin-"
"I'm still a person Kookie. I still...have needs and I still love you. I still want to make love to you, but you push me away so much-"
Jimin stopped as Jung Kook stood up. Jimin thought he was angry at first, so he cowered in his seat.
But once he felt the familiar sensation of kissing Jung Kook, he uncurled his fingers and relaxed, reaching out to lay his palms on Jung's shoulders.
Kook pulled away after a good twenty seconds, but was still leaning over the table.
Jimin cupped his love's cheek and sniffled, letting his eyes take in the up close sight he had missed so much.
"I'm sorry," Jung Kook sighed as he stood up straight and walked back to their bedroom.
Jimin leaned back in his chair, putting his thumb nail between his teeth.
He stood up and started to clear the table, putting the leftovers in the fridge for Jung Kook to eat while Jimin was at work the next day.

Jung Kook still let Jimin cuddle up to him that night. They still talked for hours after turning out the lights. Jung Kook still played with Jimin's hair to try and make him sleep.
But all the smiles Kook gave the elder were more fake than usual. Jimin saw it, but decided to leave it alone.
"Jung Kook," Jimin's last sleepy question started to form, "Do you...still love me?"
Kook stopped moving and looked to the top of Jimin's head, "Of course," he wrapped his arms around the elder's smaller frame, "Of course I do Jimin."
"That's...wonderful," Jimin managed a giggle before he fell asleep.
Jung Kook kissed his temple and sighed out a shaky breath.
'Jimin thought I hated him.' These words whirled inside the younger's mind.
Jung Kook let a few tears slip out his eyes and he didn't wipe them away. He didn't try to act tough. He needed to stop that. He wasn't the only one hurting. Jimin was too, and Jung Kook needed to be there for him.

Jimin was gone by the time Jung got up in the morning. It was eleven a.m. and Kook couldn't remember the last time he'd slept that much.
He instinctively reached for his phone and clicked it on.
A text from Jimin graced the screen and Jung Kook smiled.
'I let you sleep in. Love you :)'
Kook smiled, unlocking his phone and going to his matching game.

Jimin came back at two that evening, so Jung Kook wasn't alone for long. He was watching t.v. when the older came in, his uniform shirt unbuttoned and tie hung loose around his neck, but skin still covered by a white tank top.
Jung Kook jumped up to greet him, giving him a hug and a peck on the cheek, which was nice and also a little strange.
"Hey baby," Jimin hugged him back, slipping his shoes off at the same time.
"Hi, how was work?," Jung held his hand against the small of Jimin's back as they walked over to the couch.
"Easy," Jimin sighed, "Still losing business, so I'm still trying to find another part time."
"I'm sorry, Jimin," Jung Kook pulled their hips closer together, "I know you liked working with Ms. Tsu."
"Yeah, but she's getting older. I hope she'll retire soon, the poor lady."
Jung Kook played with Jimin's hair, smiling as he asked his next question, "How did she like your hair?"
"She said the color looked good on me," he nodded.
"It does," Jung Kook nodded fluffing it up on the right side.
"Thank you," Jimin smiled and hesitantly laid his hand on Jung's knee before squeezing.
They both turned to look at their flatscreen as a girl screamed through the speakers.
"She scared me!," Jimin whined, "The serial killer probably just wants her to shut up."
"Aw," Jung hugged his boyfriend, "It's okay, I'm here."
"I know," Jimin happily hummed as he rubbed his hand up and down Kook's thigh.
For about two minutes it was quiet, then Jung slowly spoke, "Jimin, I never answered your question yesterday."
"What?," the smaller looked up to him with furrowed brows.
"About...," his cheeks tinted a light pink and Jimin understood.
"Kookie, baby, I was angry. It doesn't mean-"
"It does mean something," Jung Kook sighed, "It means I haven't been paying you enough attention. I'm sorry for that."
Jimin would be lying if he said that wasn't comforting.
"I just...I'm afraid to touch you now," Kook admitted.
"Why? Did I do something?"
"No," he shook his head, "It's just that I...don't want us to go through that again. If you get pregnant again and we lose another baby, I don't know what will happen. I don't know how I'll react. I'm scared of that."
Jimin licked his lips and sighed before he climbed up onto Jung Kook's lap. His arms wrapped around Kook's neck and his knees pressed into the cushions beside the younger's thighs.
"Jimin-"
"We can't always be afraid Jung Kook," Jimin whispered, "Life is about taking risks, remember? I don't want to lose another baby either, but I know I want to try to have one. So, will you try with me?"
Jung Kook bit his lip and swallowed back the tears, slowly but surely nodding, "I...I can't let anyone else try with you."
Jimin laughed and playfully shook his head.
